Decided to remove my Badlands Rockrails and added the Ford Factory sidesteps.

The instal was straightforward:
-Remove 6 bolts, rock rails and rock rail mounts (two on each side)
-Remove six bolts attaching the rock rails to the side and just pull them off

The kit comes with new screws and if you look at the running boards, they are labeled so you know where they go
Just attach them and add the six bolts and you are done

Much easier now to get into the car, especially for the kids

I hate the look of the welds on the side but can live with it

Definitely want to do this too. Wish I could find someone local interested in a trade for the rock rails.

Getting in and out was not comfortable
Had to make a small jump if I didn't want to slide on the seat
Kids struggled and I didn't like the car for that
Now, all are happy 😊

HI. I AM GOING TO INSTALL THE RUNNING BOARDS ETC AS SOON AS MY BADLANDS GETS BUILT HOPEFULLY THIS WEEK. QUESTION IS WERE YOU ABLE TO INSTALL BY YOURSELF?, OR DID YOU NEED HELP. ALSO I AM HOPING SOMEONE COMES ALONG WITH EITHER A RUBBER STRIP OR VINYL THAT WILL BOLT TO THE PINCH WELD TO HIDE IT. THANKS TONY

I did it alone
Very easy

Thought I would struggle, but the running boards are lightweight. The factory rock sliders stay attached and you just need to slide them off, making the whole ordeal an easy one
No jack was used. Just a cardboard box to lay on and 13mm and 10mm sockets. One nut on the passenger side was 17mm or so

I got it from my Local Ford dealer
More expensive than the US

Part number: M2DZ-16450-BB
I paid $700
But they cost $400-$500 in the USA

Somehow, my dealer refuses to discount accessories. 🤔

I have a soft top badlands and was thinking about the same thing, but I think I'll go with the AR Stirrup that attaches to the Rock Rails. As soon my '22 hard top Badlands w/sasquatch (2/14/22 order date) comes in (soft top will go to my mom) with the new factory Removable Hoop Step, I'll be adding Ford's accessory "Trail Armor Rocker Panels" to hide the unsightly pinch welds and hopefully in the long term protect with rust and rocks with the help of mudflaps.

Could the rock rails stay in place with the side steps, or must they be removed to fit the steps?

That is the 1 million dollar question

Let me try to test fit and I will come back to you.
