You can’t see in any of the pictures - are you certain the main battery line was cut? That would be … very very unusual

Not necessarily for a Copart vehicle, nothing would surprise me. :)

Copart is an online salvage auction company that buys insurance totals/ repairables/ used vehicles etc. and auctions them as is.

It’s very hard to see, but it is cut:

I bought a 2024 Bronco last month, and yesterday I got a “Charging System Service Now” message. After I opened the hood to check the battery, I found that the battery cable had been cut and the battery was connected with small wires, and those wires had melted. I was wondering if you have any idea how to fix it

Honestly looking at that, thise red wires aren't supposed to be there at all. Is this a 2.7? There should only be 2 big wires coming off the negative terminal plus the BMS wires. Like Ducati said it does appear the cable has been cut. That wire is part of a big harness. I would take it to an audio shop if you don't feel comfortable repairing that yourself.

How does one buy a used vehicle without giving it a thorough once-over, bringing a mechanic friend to the purchase and-or taking it to a trusted mechanic for an inspection bwfore you sign on the dotted line?
I'm imagining if this shit-show is in plain sight, there is far worse stuff wrong with that vehicle.
Buying from Copart you're buying a salvaged vehicle. It's sold as is at auction. Most of the time you don't get to examine it first.

Gotcha. I guess that's the risk you run with salvaged vehicles
