FWIW - I think that the Base is the better deal unless you want the mid-package.

they did a great job and it was.brilliant to lock out high package from BD and pushing folks into $50k+ trims just to get it.

The only way to win is not to play...

If you don't want to diy it, Ford is going to make you pay. Don't get me wrong, I suspect with the inflation that is likely coming, it will be money well spent if you bite the bullet. Still a base model isn't exactly stripped. In the 80's it would have been beyond luxurious.
