Well my local shop has done a ton of broncos for lifts and set people up on the 6112s. He recommended circlip 6 in the front and 5 in the back and most people end up maxing out the Bilstiens anyways according to shop. In the grand scheme of things 2.1 inches extra lift in the front isn’t all that much compared to the other lift kits out there for the Bronco. It will level out the front and bring the back up about 1.2 inches and have a little bit of front rake at .6 inches. Plus if I get a winch bumper it won’t drop it down a lot in the front and still be about level. With the heavy steel belly pan skids I’ve added and the steel beefy rock sliders it should work out great. Fingers crossed as I’m tired of dragging on the rocks. Post back if you think I should reconsider.

Honestly it's all personal preference. I think a lot of people simply want as much lift as possible with as little work as possible. I personally only wanted to level it out and add a small amount. I don't really think there's a wrong answer here.

@telenerd , as I understand it the 6112's are within a hair of the stock yellow SAS's shocks travel/geometry, so your 2.1 inch lift means you will lose 2.1 inches of down travel which may or may not be noticeable over speed bumps and off road, but then maybe not with your current and/or future weight compressing you back to more normal ride height...

Lowest cg possible that still satisfies your clearance requirements. Static shock equilibrium near mid travel, which requires appropriate springs to carry your weight instead of using spring preload.

I just finished assembling the front struts using the 61112 springs on clip 5, paired with KYB top hats. Everything appears to be aligned correctly—based on the instructions and comparing with my stock struts, the top of the spring is perfectly centered in the hat.

That said, I noticed a slight bow in the springs when they’re assembled but still unloaded. Has anyone else experienced this? Just want to make sure it's normal before moving forward.

I’m on clip 5 as well for all shocks. Ride height is perfect with just a small amount of rake. Clip 6 and Clip 5 in the back the front rode too high.
I haven’t noticed my springs bowing. I used the stock top hats. The springs however took awhile to settle and dropped a little bit for ride height. Rides great! The alignment show however couldn’t get the caster/camber to spec so I am getting control arms installed soon.

Is there any difference between using the stock Sasquatch springs with the 6100s and the Bilstein springs with the 6112s?

I live very close by, do you do installs for folks or only resell components?

We only sell our own products and do not do installs. We're purely a mail order business. We don't even sell Bilstein shocks or resell other products. I made this install video simply to share with the community.

I found this link here but I don't recall which thread:

google doc spreadsheet

You can see that there is wide range of rate between offerings, as well as a range between front and back (e.g. Fox seems to use very light spring rates in the back, more or less equal to Bilstein 6112's in the front however).

What does it mean compared to stock? I have not seen stock spring rates published that I can recall, though I have read here that Ford varies the stock SAS spring rates quite a bit based on trim, 2 or 4 doors, etc.

Most of the aftermarket offers a 'one size fits all' solution - unless they have "standard" & "heavy duty" choices.

Then folks here will say "it feals like........." but that is subjective of course, and their bronco is a different trim/weight then the next report

Soooooo.....it is one big confusing mess lacking important data (such as any particular persons stock spring rate) IMO

I remember that now. Quite impressive compilation.

How’s everyone liking their 6112?

I’m still running clip 5 in the front and 5 in the back on my 2 door badlands Sasquatch. I did have to get upper control arms because the alignment shop could not get the caster and camber to spec at clip 5. JBA control arms made a huge difference in the ride especially with the Bronco returning to center for the wheel. After running the shocks for awhile I think they ride great and don’t dive and blow through their travel off-road. Slow speed crawling they are a tad firm. I’m sure if I went with a lower clip setting the shocks would be a little more supple on rocks. But then I would lose height. The stock shocks I would scrape my belly over everything.

I would be curious how the other clip settings work but don’t wanna deal with it and getting yet another alignment! I also don’t see how folks are running stock control arms with the added extra height. I would guess anything past clip 3 or 4 is the borderline for alignment problems.

@WillRCTID just installed this weekend. I was there for the stupervision. :geek:

He went with the 3 and we'll see if he has alignment issues. He did get new uppers but was concerned about how long all of the operations would take. So they can go on later.

3 seems like the happy medium. I forgot to mention my 6112 springs took awhile to settle. Maybe 500-1000 miles. Your buddy hopefully not be surprised if you lose half an inch or inch!
