I was between the Base w/ Sasquatch and the Black Diamond without, one locker is good enough and I'd prefer 33's w/ 4.27 axle to 35's w/4.7's, but got turned off with the rubber floor and vinyl seats, I want carpet and fabric (I'll probably never have the top fully off.) I'm hoping the Base Sasquatch comes in under Black Diamond $$

I could also do a Base w/o Sasquatch if the 4.27 rear locker is available as a stand alone option
I’m thinking along those lines as well. But I want the other 2 goat modes. I’m sure they’re just programming. I prefer carpet and cloth . I harken back to when the rubber floors and vinyl seats were were work truck cheep. i totally see the versatility and it makes sense, but.. if I could just program up the goat modes I’d be totally set.

Here is the best pic so far of the optional wheels and tires which look MTish. Eventually this Area 51 4-Door Black Diamond with soft top will show up with a better look at the wheels. Build & Price should show the wheels next week.

These are sharp... maybe not enough to pull my from doing the squatched BD but still pretty sexy..
Yeah, between these wheels and my preference for 33” vs 35” on the two door, I think I need to go BL.

My only issue that I can see so far is that I hope Ford allows us to change tires on the Squatch package. I know I'll be getting a BD, 2.7, squatch, and options. I just don't want MT tires and not wanting to spend an extra $1,000 on some ATs before the vehicle leaves the dealer.

I was planning on getting a black 2 door base with Sasquatch and 2.7L engine. Those all add up and I'm thinking to just get a black diamond and call it a day. Should I sacrifice the bigger engine and the Sasquatch package to get the higher trim? This will be my daily driver and this will be driven into the ground. Or should I at least get this trim and upgrade the engine. the lift and tires I guess I can go the aftermarket route later.
I was the same as you but 4 door. I decided that SQ is way more than I need. I am now at BD w/2.7. I am going to add the optional black aluminum rims (unless priced stupid) and keep the Grabber 32's on. Once the tires need changed look at 33's, by this time we will know what additional steps are necessary to fit 33's (if any).

The stock gearing on BD will definitely work with 33's. It is the same as non-SQ BL. This is all the tire I would ever need.

The Squatch tires are a “hybrid” Max Traction/multi-terrain tire. It is probably be worth it to ride em out And then replace with the tires of your choice.

Where is that listed at? Everything I find is " 17-inch beadlock-compatible wheels wrapped in 35-inch mud tires "

Check out Goodyear Wrangler Territory. It’s a Canadian off road tire. Pretty sure this is the tire (Or a new version of it) on the Squatch.

Ford is referring to these tires as mud terrain which is probably appropriate.
But in reality they are more of a hybrid.
Do a quick google search of these tires and look as some pictures then google some pictures of other mud terrain tires and I think you will see the difference.
Still appropriate to call them mud terrain but not as "mud terrain" as most others in that category.

I apologize if I'm not explaining this clearly. But the tread pattern is why many are calling them a hybrid mud/all terrain.

Thanks for the info, both of you. I'll stick with a straight up AT. I have no use for a MT or a MT hybrid.

If I could get the BD with a vinyl seat delete option I would entertain a non-sas 2.7 BD. Base-sas 2.7 it is I guess.

EDIT: I guess I could change out the seat cover if I really hated them. Both broncos are probably about the same price.

Now that I've seen the pics of the Marine vinyl compared to the leather, I'm good with the vinyl. I'm close to Port Aransas and when driving on a beach, sand gets into everything! Vinyl will be easier to maintain (maybe! assuming a lot here).

Thoughts for how much more badlands "should be" vs black diamond with the following options:
Sasquatch, mid package, 2.7/auto on both.

With the above the differences for badlands over BD would be:
Advanced 4x4. I believe the main difference would be a all time 4 wheel drive. (?)any more information on the differences would be appreciated. BD would have your standard selectable 2, 4H, 4L.
The swaybar quick disconnect.
They both have 7 goat modes but I believe badlands has baja instead of sport. So not sure that is worth anything.

So really the only difference I can see is advanced 4x4 and the sway bar disconnect.

How much do we think that should be worth? I know B&P will tell us how much they will charge. But just thoughts on a reasonable price for those upgrades?

Are there other differences I'm not accounting for that would make a price difference?
Thanks

I think sasquatch gives you the advanced electronic locking system. The differences would be the sway bar disco, headlight appearance, and grill style.
Appearance items are hard to value because we each value them differently.

BL has the Bilstein shocks and I guess it also has 50% of what makes the Sasquatch the Sasquatch so it’s a significantly better overall 4X4 vehicle as a base, which is why it costs more. I asked this question yesterday as I was confused about why the BL was so high.
