Hello all,

while I have enjoyed my Bronco I have had for the last 2 month, it is starting to become a bit of a nightmare. I am fortunate I have not had any serious issues like others, but I have had two very minor issues since the day I got my Bronco from the dealership and truly cannot believe how clueless ford is with fixing the broncos.

my door switch in passenger door was broken causing a door ajar light and my usb connected to sync does not work. It took 30 days(yes, my car has been sitting at the dealership for over 30 days and I have had the car for 2 months only) for them to finally fix the door switch, but of course they returned the car without fixing the usb. After all the issues with that dealer, I brought my car to another dealer to fix the usb. It is now turning into the exact same situation as the other issue with ford ordering parts that don’t fix it and having no clue how to fix a USB outlet of all things. My car has now been at the dealership close to 40 days since i purchased it a couple months ago.

has anyone had issues with the usb and know how to fix it? For the door switch issue, I literally had to discuss it with ford parts and figure out the part the dealership needed to order for them because they didn’t know what to do… if I didn’t do that, I wouldn’t be surprised if that issue was still present as well.

appreciate everyone’s help as I am anxious to get back my Bronco, but starting to consider claiming a lemon.

You did try more than one USB cable right?

yes, if only it was that simple. Issue is with both USB And USB C, have tried multiple cables for each. The outlet lights up in the border around it so the outlet is getting power. Ford says it’s a communication issue between the outlet and sync entertainment but don’t know how to fix. I am guessing they will drag their feet for another week or two before agreeing to order another SYNC system to replace the original, but was hoping someone might know a fix.

My usb outlets for sync have not worked since day one. I did get the dealer to look at back in January and they ended up replacing the usb part and it did work. Problem is it only worked for about 2 weeks then it started to flicker and then went out again completely. My assumption is there is a loose connection or something causing a short that fries the usb part. At a point where I'm just living with it as it seems like a nightmare to try and find the short on it.

so I just took apart the center console on my wife's 21 explorer to fix her cupholders, in that process i did end up tracing and unplugging the USB cable between the sockets on the console and the audio system, it definitely will be going through a molex type connector and thru a harness, its possible the data pins just aren't seated well at the other end, or the device on the other end is plain broken, gotta be one or the other, it looked to be like power was being injected from somewhere else. i can't imagine the bronco's setup is much different, though her setup is a Sync3 system
