Considering a recent thread on this topic and others, some perspective is in order:

Bronco: 20/22
Tacoma: 18/20
Colorado: V6 17/24
4Runner: 16/19
G-Wagon: 17/19
FJ Cruiser: 17/20
F150 2.7L: 17/23
Jeep 3.6L 20/24
Jeep 392: 12/17

I would say the Bronco is pretty darn respectable! If you want something with significantly better MPGs its not a 4WD truck. Sure you can do better in a small car based SUV, but the difference isn't huge and its hardly an apples to apples comparison.

Who is getting 21 mpg in this thing, lol? Maybe a 4 cylinder base 2 door?

Real world vs epa are two different things, considering the weight and aerodynamics of the Bronco I am not surprised why its not easy to get the claimed epa figures.

2.3 4Dr BB on 33” tires with mostly suburban driving = 17.5 mpg after 1400 miles. Unsure how to even whiff 20 mpg lol.

My last tank was 19.6 hand calculated. 4 door BB A10. Eco mode. Mid grade 89 octane. Going to give Eco another full run here this tank, than try normal for a few tanks.

I did see in another thread someone posted that when they used premium they noticed like an extra 4-5 MPG per tank so might give that a shot. I know my Mazda6 with the turbo got better gas mileage with premium

A lot of city driving?
I can get 20mpg highway on my squatched 2.3L
perfect conditions (crusing at like 52 MPH) I can get 22-25. But stop and go, over 60 on the highway, combined real world reporting I'm hoping to maintain just under 18.

But having activated sport mode with forscan is a bit of a problem

I can't get 16. I'm currently sitting at 15.2 for the lifetime of the vehicle.

15.2

... 15.2

Maybe there's something wrong with mine?

What did you think would happen when you opt for 35" tires and low gearing? Of course the 20/22 rating is for non Sas 2.3L, or base if you want to call it that. Sasquatch is rated 17/17! This is about comparing to similar vehicles with similar capabilities.

I'm right with you. Tall gears, big tires and terrible aerodynamics compounded by ground clearance. I don't believe anyone who says a Badlands gets better than maybe 18 best case.

I've got a '21 Colorado ZR2 Bison - pretty much one of the most capable off-road trucks on the market, and definitely the most capable mid-sized truck on the market - and it's got the 3.6L gas V6 - around town with conservative to moderate driving, it gets around 13mpg, on the highway if I set the cruise at 62-65, it'll get 25 mpg .. my overall average over the course of the last year (just over 14k miles) is 16mpg
