I just bought a new phone (iphone) and set it up via phone to phone transfer, and it is installed and opens on the new phone. Perhaps it be airdropped to another iphone? Not sure if apps can do that, only a suggestion.
Possible answer from google. I have an app on an iphone 8 that is no longer in the app store. Ill try that and report back.

I gave a long time ago on that App (Apple user), it just never connected. The one time it did it seemed kinda neat but definitely not worth the hassle.
I love the trail app, but likes others have said it's flakey and often wont connect, leading to reinstall the app.
Trail recording is super cool, wish they would scrap everything except the trail recording w/ telemetry
