Like the idea but not the fit. why does it stick up on the outside and not line up with the top if the fender?

That was just the initial test piece. The benefit of 3D printing before production is you can pull real world measurments an check fit before investing in a mold. The final piece will be nice and flush.

Numerous people had suggested adding lights/signals. I just wanted to bring to your attention before you go down that rabbit hole that you are aware that Ford owns the patent on such features. Trail Sight Lights

I've been hoping for these since the first time I saw what the 21' will look like. Sign me up, where do I order! I'll paint them IS and make the front fenders look like a bronco should have from the beginning.
This!

How about some CNC machined fender badges? Stickers look dumb on a 50k truck.

they dont have to be replicas, so as not to infringe on copyrights. Something new. Maybe just b6g inspired as a community.

I have considered this. should be revealing another item next week that fits right along your idea

Its multiple molds and manufacturing process to do both, but I do plan to experiment with both options since this is not load bearing. Costs will really determine which route we go, but billet is so cool.

I have something coming for you soon my friend.

I thought about this. Integration of the light then doing wiring is a little tricky, but not bad for a future project.

That would be bad ass

Its mainly because the part is gray. Once its body colored or anodized black it will flow

For sure man. I am working on getting production info this week

Give me a couple more days brother. I got you.

Maybe it just makes the character..... different.....

I always loved those.

Thanks man. Life is all about options.

Laser beams.... check...... I thought about allowing it to shoot bees also, but still working through the honey storage...
My wife is a bee keeper. Let me see what we can come up with. 🍻

I have several patents and trademarks, just because Ford creates a patent and says it could have “turn signals or trail lights” it does not matter. They can not “corner” an idea without producing a patent for that specific idea.

If the do produce it, it would be super easy to alter to make it different enough that it would not violate their patent.

Ford is not the first company to create a tie down for a vehicle that bolts to the hood area.

here is an example of a Ford patent of a rock slider with a storable step...does that mean Ford has the patent on all storable steps ? that’s a big NO. The have the patent on the way their rock slider stores the step. If someone copies that method of storing the step then that’s patent infringement. Trademarks are much different ...and much harder to get around..trademarks deal with names. Ford almost lost getting Bronco trademarked for clothing because the DenverBroncos had that..even though Ford vehicle trademark with the name Bronco is older. Ford and NFL Bronco’s came to agreement and there ya go...Ford has a Trademark.

Ford does have Foreward facing lights patent for the tie down ...not a turn signal. But make a set of lights on the tie down that face forward and to the side or pop out or up and that’s different ..

Also just because Ford says it “could“ have turn signals in their tie down in no way protects it..their patent would have to be a separate patent for turn signal tie down.

By all means, I encourage others to innovate. But I hope they have deep pockets to protect/defend their innovation from the likes of Ford's corporate lawyers. I'm not trying to defend Ford. Just trying to share awareness that for those willing to venture down the rabbit hole that it may be a costly.

I'm with you. I have always thought that they should have been an add-on to begin with. Hood and fender shape is already just right.
