The one and the same but I only drive 1.1 miles to work. I’ll burn some fuel on trips to trail ride. But it’s all good!

Same, it's my daily. And I'm mostly in the same boat, it's not a diesel golf or a prius, so no competition there.

Granted, I'd have given it serious pause if it got 10 mpg instead of 20, lol
I get 14.7 tops, last tank I went through was 12 and I just lifted it with coil overs today so I expect that to be closer to the norm unfortunately. Have my wife’s diesel F-pace for longer trips and better mpg
@‘21OBX Where did you get the bronco script from, I see them everywhere in different sizes and qualities so I have pulled the trigger yet

$7k doesnt get you a beater, it can get you a damn nice commuter. I DD a '98 Lexus LS400 I bought off the orriginal for $5k. Almost 30mpg in the lap of luxury.

Thanks! Ive put almost 75k miles on it in the last 18 months, it's perfect for how much I drive for work. I refuse to drive something new every day and have it out of warranty and depreciated to nothing so quickly.

I never understood the rationalization of spending $30,000 to $60,000 + additional insurance on a new second car to save a few hundred to a $1,000 or so a year on gas. If you want a second, third or fourth car go for it but stop with the silly justification…. Now if you’re buying a reliable beater for a couple grand that gets 40+ MPG and carry minimum liability insurance on it that might make financial sense….

I have a 2006 fusion 4 cyl since new. Only having a second car because it’s paid off and I can’t sell it for much, and insurance is dirt cheap. Not worth selling it as long as it’s running, and I have something to take to busy parking lots and not worry about

100% agree, I’ve never understood the whole buying a second car for the mpg. I can buy a lot of gas for the price of a car, even if it’s $5,000 beater. I’d never go out of my way to buy a second car for the mpg. There’s other good reasons for a second car other than mpg

Whoever said rationalization had anything to do with it. I have the second car of my choice because I can. Besides, I could flip the Maverick and make a few $$.

I shopped for “beaters” to commute with but ended up buying a brand new Hyundai Elantra base model. It averages 45 mpg on my route and came with a 10 year warranty and free oil changes. It’s not “cool” by any means but saves me money to leave the big diesel truck at home.

I just reserved my spot to purchase an Aptera, the perfect daily driver to compliment my very analog and inefficient 7MT Bronco. I drive over 100 miles a day and do not want to pay for that much gas or put unnecessary miles on my dream car.

Is your daily driver the bronco? If not what are you driving or will drive to compliment this wonderful and capable 4x4?

We think the wait for the Bronco is bad, the Aptera might take infinity to arrive.
