I'm trying to convert my order today. I keep trying to get the salesman to give me the 4.46 with a LOCKING. He keeps printing out specs with a 4.46/Rear Axle-Open Differential.

I CAN get locking differential on a 4.46 can't I? What is it's code so I can help him out?

Sorry if this has been asked before, I have hunted and hunted the threads and can't find the simple answer.

Yes - It's standard on Black Diamond, and you should be able to add it to a Big Bend. I do not know the build codes though.

Base - I believe you need to add Sasquatch to get the locker.

Page 31. But I don't see the specific order codes. You may need to scroll up to the trim you're getting to find those. The codes are referenced at the bottom of page 31.

So you need a vehicle order of 2-Door 4x4 (E5A) / 4-Door 4x4 (E5B) with 2.3L Engine (99H) and then the locked 4.46 code is X4L

Pretty sure you have to go up to Black Diamond to get a 4.46 locker with the 7MT. 4.27 locker is available with the Auto on Big Bend.

Apples, thanks for that reference. It was available and selected when I did the build and price. It appears it IS available. So I just have to educate the salesman!

Your right. The guy wants a Big Bend and it only comes with 4.27 with an option locker. The 4.46 is BD and BL.

Check the order guide guys. The locked 4.46 is available in the BB as long as you are opting for the 2.3/MT.

Locked 4.46 is standard on the BD.

Thanks Apples, that's what I'm seeing too. The build website let me set that months ago. Just never got a code for the locking rear Diff. So I'm getting:

4 Door Big Bend
2.3L engine
7 speed manual
4.46 rear with Locking Diff

"locking = closed" right? They show "open rear diff" on the dream sheet at this moment.

Now if I can get the salesman to put all that on the order I'll be ok!

The terminology isn't precise but yes, locked is the opposite of open.

I'm not sure what your salesguy is missing. It plainly says the locking diff is available on all Bronco's. It appears to be a $495 option, and just takes a click to add it.

I realize those folks have a lot to learn with so many different models to sell. But damn, how hard is it to just go down the list on the order sheet, and click the little box? SMH
