Can You Just Swap 4 inch speakers in rear?

If I don’t want to replace the pods for 6.5 inch can I just swap in better 4inch speakers without any mods? Will it sound better?

I swapped my rear factory speakers for a pair of JL's from Crutchfield and they do sound better.

Yes I used Kicker KS series 4" plus these speaker harness adapters. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BQT36MN7?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

The wire harness adapters make it easy to plugnplay. Without you'll need to cut & crimp or solder and there isn't a lot of extra wire length so I'm glad I got the wiring harness. I crimped the front 4" speakers though cause I was too impatient to wait.

Also do the Forscan mod to send the full signal to the rear speaker pods. Makes a big difference.
