CarPlay google maps gets stuck in 2/3 screen:

1. Is there any way to fix this.
2. In google maps the right side 1/3 of the screen remains blank while google maps is on the rest of the screen.
3. going back and forth between small big screen does not solve issue.
4. I get full screen maps with both Waze and iOS maps.

I have noticed similar issues with Google Maps as of recently.

I have an andoid phone, so what I do is, close all apps and it seems close android auto, and the car restarts it. Then google maps is back.

I think it may be a recent update or something as this never used to happen before.

I have the same issue, but on the right side of the screen. To correct it, I do a soft reset and it fixes the issue. Not convenient at all as the reset also resets the ambient lighting to 0. I think it is an update (or lack of) issue that eventually will get fixed.

Close out all apps on your phone or the Bronco? I’m not even sure how to close apps in the Bronco as there are always three apps on the main screen.

I close out all apps on the phone and it basically closes android auto itself on the car and forces it to restart which solves it for me..

Have you tried holding the radio power button + next track button for 10 secs to reset the screen? Also, there's a "full screen" symbol on the maps screen, top left on my bronco - it's two arrows going corner-to-corner that might expand the maps.

Press radio on/off button and forward track button at the same time until screen goes black. Release and wait for it to reboot. Less than 10 secs.

Thanks. Yes when it’s stuck the small to full screen change does not work.
It has been full screen these last two days not sure why it’s finicky. Good to have ideas how to fix when it sticks again.

This has been happening to me for a couple of months. I switched to Apple Maps for a minute then switched back to google. The issue came back.

i did the soft reset this morning and it fixed the issue. Curious to see how often it comes back and I need to do that…

I've been having this issue since the last update my Bronco received (4.2.3). It's annoying, but it doesn't happen all the time on my end.

I rarely use Apple CarPlay, but I did on Tuesday and noticed the same issue. Glad to see I’m not alone, and hopefully an easy fix with a software update.

I see Apple has an iPhone iOS update come out yesterday so I’m wondering if that fixed it?

Same issue for a couple months on Iphone. If I force close the google maps App on iphone it works normally again for a while.
