I live in NJ. While I don’t own a handgun, I’ve done research on the subject. (I’m pro-, not anti-)

I’m pretty sure that this console box would not satisfy NJ’s laws. The gun needs to be unloaded, locked up, and stowed where the driver can not readily access it. That means, in the trunk.

if Anybody here has a handgun, Unload it and lock that thing up in the trunk if you’re passing through NJ. A few law abiding people per year get caught (who the heck knows how?), with their gun in the car and not in accordance with NJ’s rules.

they wind up in a load of legal trouble as the DA tries to put them in jail for something that might be totally legal in the state where they come from.

You could alway put your pet Cobra or Tarantula in the console with whatever may be valuable. Pretty sure that would deter would be thieves.
Pretty sure that would attract people.

Not me! I'm not afraid of much but I can't stand spiders. lol Anything that small that can run faster than me forget it.

Yeah we had the same dumb laws when I lived back in MA. One of the many reasons I left there and never went back.

IIRC someone said the factory center console is lockable.
So is there a separate key for the lockable console or do we have to pull the one out of the key fob?

Wondering that, too....which is why it would be great if it magically locked/unloced when key is in the vehicle.

Looks like the one on the fob. My Ranger glove box locks and that's the key that opens it.

Speaking of the glove box... I can't believe a topless vehicle doesn't have a lockable one

edit: Apparently it does! Whew

Most vehicles Ihave driven that use a fob have a little key that comes out of the fob. That little key locks and unlocks the glove box and other keyed locking things.

Probably the same way for the Bronco.

You'd think it would obvious that should have it too. Probably another bean counter move. Give them one on the center console but take away the glove box lock.
