I recently changed my tire size and shortly after I received a Powertrain malfunction light, took it to the dealership and they charged me $411 to reprogram the AWD module....reason given was I changed the tire size......now get this, I went from a 255/70R18 to a 275/70R18. That's only a 1" increase in diameter and it "broke" my vehicle. So be warned it's not covered under warranty.

Did anyone else go through this?

Nope. Although what they did for you is basically the last step in the Forscan recalibration procedure — had you tried to recalibrate the speedometer or something?

I thought dealers could not recalibrate for tire size due to some EPA crap?

Yeah not only are they completely wrong, but you got straight up scammed. Dealers are complete idiots and your best "master tech" is no more than an oil change and parts swapping expert.

They're right down the street from me - small dealership, I would bring my Fusion there for oil changes, but not sold on bringing the Braptor there yet - this ain't helping their case.

Trust me you are better off going somewhere else, every single time I brought my vehicle to them they tried to make it seem I did something wrong to the vehicle so they could charge me for service. For example, the first time I took it there for the drivetrain warning light they claimed I "installed" something under the dashboard. Turns out it was a dealer-installed LoJack system. Brewster Ford had to contact them or else I would have been on the hook for a faulty AWD module.

Wow what a scam. I would question if they actually adjusted tire size.

Uh, you didn't change diameter at all. All you did was put a 50mm WIDER tire on.
