I can't help it, I'm cheap!
$200 for the Ford part of dubious reputation, or $30 for a Scosche pad and a bit of cutting... We all know where this is going!
Thanks to a recent divorce, my Fordom tool is being held hostage by my Ex, so I had to go old-school (damn near medieval ) and made due with a cordless drill and a utility knife.
Stage 1: extricate the unwanted plastic from the console insert plug.
Stage 2: Glue in the charging pad with copious splooges of Goop automotive adhesive.
Stage 3: Install charging adapter on 2 of the 4 power wires feeding the inverter in the console. (no pics were taken).
Stage 4: Revel in your awesomeness for being a tightwad and enjoy your new wireless charging pad.
