Simply means in my opinion the Broncos are pushed beyond their limits. The Off rodeo is more in line with the design capabilities. Ford knows what people will do, but can’t build it to conquer any trail. Sure they may tweak areas as they learn what’s needed. But for extreme off roading you need better. I should know, I watch YouTube!
You’ll fit right into my group of Instalanders! I like pushing design envelopes. That’s where the aftermarket steps in. Taking them past what they are designed for. Same with Jeeps, they wernt built to do half of what they do. They get axles swapped, steering braced as well, HD brakes added, etc.

June 21 build, elder of dirt mountain and open. Mine is not cracking, but does have the rust on the weld. Only has Bilstein 5100 and wildtrack tires and wheels. Not hardcore off road, only a few times down N. Padre and a couple of hidden falls trips

For your sake and others, you should have documented the damage rather than trying to fix it. I understand wanting things squared away, but you may have lost an opportunity for Ford to evaluate the situation and if needed, issue a recall.
Nah -- they aren't going to recall over just one vehicle and this was a heavily modified Bronco. And it already looks like this has been documented by others.

Oct. '21 build. Open, no visible cracks yet.
But quite concerning.
Definitely something to keep my eye on, maybe even make some plates and box it in myself.
Thanks for this thread.

OP if you do end up letting your buddy weld it up, be careful if welding on your car. Even disconnecting the battery, a welder can still fry electrical components on modern vehicles.

Need to get the ground on the welder very close to the work area.

One of the guys I work with fried some components on his GMC recently when he was doing his exhaust and learned the hard way.

To my untrained eye, the common denominator is that Broncos made with clean black paint don't crack. The ones Ford built with scraped/rusty and dirty black paint tend to crack.
I need to look under mine.

Hmm, I wonder if there was a switch over sometime at the end of 21. I have a FE that I purposefully bought on a build date after what I hope was the end of the valve issue. I'll take a look tonight and post.
