Yep. That’s a good point to bring up also. As you noticed, they all have pedestrian detection also
You're one the bright lights here an so helpful....but I'm suspicious. I have a 22 BD Mid....and never had AEB hit....once or twice it maybe should have. I thought it was on the High package? I do hope you're correct, tho', some comfort in knowing that....I've had two very close calls with peds wearing dark clothing at night crossing in front of me. No warnings.

I saw that video, that’s exactly what I think my Bronco would do.

thats a great video. You didn’t look very close. So did you brake, or did

and which package do you have?

Hmmm, what's concerning is that there is no specific information from FORD, explaining what it can, or can't do. I asked the dealer I purchased the Bronco from, (a large dealership in SOCAL), and he was unable to explain the details. He sent me to the service manager for an answer. The service manager told me, "there are so many models out there, that I don't know the specifics of all the cars we sell." What I find uncomfortable is the only way I will find out what it can do, or not, is to have a collision. To anyone who writes, 'just be careful when you drive', My answer is, 'Obviously' but why advertise a function that "may, or may not. work". We live in a world of driver's on their phones. We also live in a generation of other automobile manufacturer's whose technology is extremely functional. Ford should teach their employees to explain how the technology works in every vehicle they sell. Sorry for the rant. Now I am curious, has anyone had their collision warning go off at something between 3mph and 25mph?

It hit the brakes first, even before the alarm sounded. I have the Lux package. I was doing 8 mph maybe? Definitely did it's job.

Yes, pretty much every time it has gone off for me. It is always when someone is turning right either at a corner or into a lot and I am coasting/engine braking to slow down (no foot on brake, low speed, and a decently long distance between turning vehicle).

It’s pretty easy to verify you have it.. the setting are in your infotainment screen 🤷‍♂️
Or just Google “is pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking standard on every bronco?”

Also like I mentioned earlier, it only works during certain times. I’m 90% sure the owners manual lists certain times it may not work and night is one of them. I’ll find it in a little while and post it.

Thx, and that's damned helpful to know that pedestrians dressed dark and at night are fair game. Duh.

Plenty of specific information available from Ford on their website regarding standard features and how they work. It's also in your owners manual.
Not really a service managers job to know what technology each model has. Any decent sales person should've known the answer.
Ducati, I’ll personally take you to 3 ford dealerships in the Los Angeles area. Not 1 salesperson will be able to tell you the mph at which the collision avoidance will kick in. I agree with you that it’s not the service manager’s job to know that, but it is the salespersons job to know what they are selling. Again, apologies for a rant…. I have not found an answer to my question from Ford. However I did just notice in my Bronco, that the alert priority display shows 1 car length, for each level of alert. Highest level is 3 car lengths…. There is no mention of speed. The lane centering seems to kick in at 40mph.
I can assure you that "my" vehicle's collision assist works! A car pulled right out in front of me and the

I can only speak for my car (2024 Bronco Raptor) and believe me, it works. A car pulled right out in front of me and the "red square" on the dash threw out the warning and the brakes went on just a split second before my foot hit the brake pedal. Had I not had my seatbelt on, I would have departed through the windshield! Damn, those 37" tires really grab to stop! I always thought my Grand Cherokee auto braking didn't work so to test I ran a clothsline across the street (above the roof line) and hung a huge tarp from it providing a solid but a barrier that wouldn't damage anything. It worked at the very last moment.

Set up a test and see for yourself.

Charlie
hey Charlie, appreciate your response. I’m guessing the Raptor

im thinking mid package doesn’t work as well as jig or lux?

I believe you.
I would never expect a salesmen, or really anyone, to know the exact speeds. I work on these for a living and even I didn’t remember the exact speed without looking it up. Way too many things to remember and that’s low on my list.

But a salesman should at least be able to tell you what is standard on a vehicle and a general idea of how it works.

Unfortunately, will know probably doesn’t apply to a lot of salesman.

I did confirm that my AEB is on, set for max protection...but it's never activated....I'm gonna start aiming at pedestrians in daylight for some testing.

I have almost as dumb of a Bronco as you can get.

It goes off almost every time someone is turning right and I go to pass around them.

Just beeps/flashes, never had it hit the brakes.
This, only when I follow someone through a left hand turn. I turned it down to the lowest setting which helps.

thank you for posting that!. My window sticker does not say all of that. It just says: Pre-collision assist with AEB, without breaking down the details like yours does. But I am assuming that your sticker's breakdown, is the same system as pre-collision with AEB. Your sticker specifically states; Pedestrian Detection, Forward collision alert, dynamic brake support: My window sticker just says: with pre-collision assist, with AEB. Is this just the verbiage on the window sticker? or could mine do less than what yours does? On the infotainment screen: it does let you turn emergency braking on and off. Interesting that it's so much more detailed on your sticker. I know that window stickers can vary.

That is the official order guide from 2021 for a base bronco showing the standard options. Meaning this stuff comes on every Bronco.

Window sticker is much different, even mine with the lux package doesn’t give this much info.
