When we leave for NC or come back to Leesburg from NC, we time the express lanes. Holidays we leave home around 4:00 am and it’s still busy right in that area. You truly are in the thick of it!Stafford to the Newington exit, (one past Lorton) so I avoid the absolute worst of it, I've worked in Tysons too, and that commute from Stafford was pure hell. Are young going east on 7? That sounds like a lot of stop and go ..
Drove 7 yesterday for the first time in a while, and for the first time ever there were no road construction projects going on! It’s all 3 lanes now to Leesburg. Greenway owners ticked off the state so badly a few years ago that they took out all of the stop lights from Lburg to the Fairfax line. Moved much better, but usually just bite the bullet on the toll roads instead.
either way, just thankful no beltway! God only knows why, but the phrase “river road” means the only two cars in existence at 3pm on the entire planet would somehow run into each other at the “river road” exit!!
