Condensation / Moisture in Rear Under Floor Storage Area

My step son grew up loving the whole Fast and the Furious rice-burner nonsense.

Yesterday I cleaned it all out, wrapped tools and spare tie rod in plastic + towels. Waxed the jack etc.

Found moisture in there this morning!

Gonna run plugs out for awhile and see what I get.

Still Occurring. In fact, this morning it has frozen condensate on the inside of the rear windows.

To be fair, we've been skiing for the last couple of weeks and plenty of snow finds it's way onto the floor mats, melts, refreezes etc.

That said, I think we have an overall ventilation issue in this vehicle. Our 2013 F150 SCREW never had such issues in the same climate and usage.

As a sailor, I've resolved moisture issues in boats with a solar powered fan. I think there is a market here for a small solar fan that might mount in the rear tailgate vent "bump out."

Have this exact issue. Nasty mildew smell had me searching for wetness. There's been non-stop rain in NorCal I assumed it was a water leak, but I could see it being due to the humidity and muffler heating causing condensation as well. That makes more sense to me since I haven't seen any other evidence of water leaks from top.

Is there a TSB for this yet @Ford Motor Company ?? Dropped Bronco off at the dealer this morning.

Have this exact issue. Nasty mildew smell had me searching for wetness. There's been non-stop rain in NorCal I assumed it was a water leak...

I've been keeping a close eye on mine as well because I'm also Northern California.. But so far bone dry. It's basically been raining the entire time I've had my Bronco (about a month) and no water whatsoever. Have 1,900 "rain miles" ... However I do park it in my garage at night.

Wondering if that makes a difference.

Yup I just noticed the same the other day.

Pull the back floor, remove the plastic tub and seal with weatherstripping or silicone caulk.

Reinstall. I also added two sheet metal bolts on the forward edge.

Mine was leaking under the forward edge of the gasket.

Hello,

I too am having the same condensation. I took delivery of my 2024 a week ago and a found wet compartment and damp tool bag and jack. Apparently Ford has done nothing to his complaint, since 2021. I contacted my dealer and will bring it in.

I pulled the drain plugs and never put them back. Ford could save a few pennies and just pull them for us.
