Let’s stir this up? Or settle it once and for all?

WHO report yesterday:

https://www.who.int/docs/default-so...0316-sitrep-56-covid-19.pdf?sfvrsn=9fda7db2_6

Adding the total deaths and total new deaths, dividing by total cases and total new cases, we get (7468)/(181,418) = 0.041165

So 4.1165% death rate globally on reported cases.

note: this is from my understanding that “new cases” and “new deaths” are additions to the totals of each respectfully. Disregarding the “new” Incase I misunderstood that context the numbers would be (6606)/(167516) = 0.039435
or 3.9435% death rate for globally reported cases according to the WHO.

Prepare for the worst hope for the best has always been my motto.

One point I’ve heard is that if this ends up not being a big deal it’s probably going to because of the lengths we go to, which will feed into the “it’s overblown” thing.

UAW calls for two-week shutdown of Big 3 auto plants

https://www.cnbc.com/2020/03/17/uaw-calls-for-two-week-shutdown-of-big-3-auto-plants.html

As with Everything else that's shutting down, I understand the rationale - but I have trouble seeing how the 'green light' gets turned back on
I totally understand that... when is it going to be "safe"?

I just received a text from an employee that stated... "I don't feel comfortable working this week while this virus is around". I replied... You know that the virus will be around until July or August right?

I haven't heard anything back...

Fine line as an employer I will be walking...

Dude...it's obviously that difficult. If it wasn't, countries wouldn't be shutting down movement and economic output to try and contain it. This is not a hoax, or an attempt to sabotage someone's political career, or an overreaction to some hyped up flu. This is serious. Our healthcare infrastructure is going to be overwhelmed and lots of people are going to die - it's probably not going to be you or me or anyone else that's young and healthy, but how we respond now could save the lives of hundreds, thousands, or millions. There's obviously no need to panic or fight people for TP in the parking lot, and you can certainly continue enjoying your (mostly) normal life within the constraints of CDC guidelines, but please acknowledge that this is as real as the experts and medical professionals say it is and everyone needs to take it seriously.

This whole situation is going to be what we make of it. This next 6 months is probably going to be one of the world’s biggest changes ever in History; but luckily the human race absolutely kills it in times of adversary and we WILL come out the other side better than before. But it’s going to be a change. This picture sums it up:

Not trying to lecture you my dude, but the next few weeks are going to rough and you seem skeptical of what's going on.
