Covering the plastic panels in the back with marine grade 4 way vinyl?

Has anyone attempted to add a softer touch to the back panels by applying a marine grade 4 way or 360 degree vinyl material? I have a 2 door and removed my back seats and will be building a platform over that area covered in a mildew resistant carpet. But, along with that I would like to cover the walls. I was wondering if anyone attempted it? The plastic is just so cheap. But I do understand why Ford used it for when the tops are off.

I have never tackled such a large area. Maybe ask an upholsterer to quote it?

And just to be clear, this is not car vinyl wrap. It is boat, motorcycle, Jet ski seat material that is very pliable.

Many would say to use Super 77 spray from 3M for adhesive of interior vinyl, but I have had much better results using this when building my interior door cards. It lasts drastically longer and better temp resistance.

Has been around for a long time and there's something to still being a great product even after the chemists whipped up their secret mix of Herb's and Spice Girls.
