Has anyone else had this happen? The glass (plastic) in front of my speedometer has developed a vertical crack in the center from the bottom half way up to the top. Dealer won’t repair under warranty because “this type of thing just doesn’t happen so it must be from damage”. Ridiculous. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Sorry no pics. It’s been at the dealer for 2 weeks.
For this or something else?

At any rate, this should still be covered by warranty. Fit and finish problems are part of the factory bumper to bumper.

I’ve kept a running list of issues. Warranty is up in 500 miles so dropped it off to get all of the items fixed. This is one of them. I agree, warranty should cover this issue.

Fight it. There is always the first person with a new or unknown issue. Someone was first with every other issue.

My dealer wouldn't warranty my cracked airbag until I called Ford customer service and asked them to intervene. You might try that.

Mine had 2 small cracks at the bottom and was replaced under warranty at 14,000 miles and two years old.

Got it back from the dealer. Here’s a picture. Their position is that Ford will not replace the part. I have a call into Ford and received a message that “there is no program to replace the part”. Not sure how that has anything to do with a warranty. We’ll see where this goes but my gut tells me the dealer doesn’t want to hassle with pulling the dash, etc. to do the repair.

M2DZ-10890-A FFS, it's a $40.00 part. Unless it has impact marks from the outside, which it probably won't, it's likely an adhesive or plastic weld induced stress crack. Pick your poison, temp related or just general stress. Stress crack, when void of evidence of mechanical impact or chemical induced failure, can be covered (glass is a different beast but still has limited coverage if a structural failure below it is the cause and within coverage limits).
