That’s what I thought. Then what is meant by “dry detection mode”?
When the wiper motor reduces wiper speed if it detects higher than expected resistance on the motor caused by a dry windshield or something blocking the wiper blades like ice build up.

Interesting. I didn't realize that. Knowledge is power.

Well, they performed the flash today. So, that's done.

Thanks for clarifying.

I received this letter from Ford a day or two ago. It’s not called a recall, but a notice to take your Bronco in for a software download under “Customer Satisfaction.”

It addresses a problem with a sensor system that makes your wipers quit working if it thinks your windshield is dry. I’ve never had a problem with this, but I think others have.

I got it as well. Half day to do a software update!? I haven't had any issues and won't be running to the dealer. Same with the rear camera recall...if it ain't broke I don't see a need to fix it.

I thought they were doing a flash on the motor computer and it was more like tens of minutes, not hours. The little mobile service guy or gal should be able to come by and do it. I tried to get it scheduled before Christmas but the service guy was "washing the van" for the next hour and they wanted me to wait to schedule it with him personally, which frankly just came as a put off. Oh well!

I also got this last week, Not going to make special visit to dealership just for that!

This did make me remember the day I picked up my new Bronco, I'm about 2 miles from dealership and it started to rain, so I put on the windshield wipers and they just "bounced" turned around and went back to DS, here the "robot" or "lazy Union worker" never tighten down the wiper arms. My salesmen and I had a good laugh.

That's my thoughts but the notice says half a day. Mobile service guy you say...lucky, no such option in this neck of the woods.

It actually doesn’t take the dealer anytime at all to complete this.
I’m fortunate to have a great local dealer, John Hinderer Ford in Washington Court House, who even offers mobile service.
They just came out to the house yesterday and completed this, along with some seatbelt clip recall/update. I bet the technician wasn’t here 15 minutes.

Was watching Young Sheldon last night and Memaw's love interest (played by the actor who offs himself with poison in The Princess Bride) made a crack about Maine being sparsely populated. Maybe Stephen King can swing by on one of his famous walks? 🤔 😁

There's somewhere where Flip complains about the reimbursement being too little, like 1.4 hours or something. It's mostly pulling the steering column cover, plugging into a plug found there, updating, and I assume checking it's done. Half a day seems relevant only in the "we hate service repair work and don't want to do it so we'll hold your car for a week to get to it" kinda way. Or, they screw it up. Wagers on which is more likely. Actually, maybe both.

yes, this one I will get done along with getting the MY23 Job2 window fix. The seatbelt clip one went in the trash.
