Dark Hardtop MIC

I've seen prototypes driving around town and the color of the top matches quite nicely. They are not that weird gray color. Pic isn't great, I was driving, so you'll just have to trust me, but I wouldn't worry about it.

All of the “preproduction” pics we h e been seeing have been the terrible gray.
I’m assuming the one you saw was black and matched the rest of the trim/fenders?

did it look painted? I know it’s hard to tell, but best guess.

No idea where that roof came from, but it is not and has never been the color of the MIC roof.

We've heard about the spec changes....let me ask you....are ANY MIC tops being produced yet in the final color spec?

It wasn't painted, and was definitely the MIC top, I drove along side ot for about 3 minutes but had to get off, and I didn't notice a significant difference between the top and the fenders.

I dont know anything specifically about the Bronco, but I am an engineer in the auto industry, and my feeling is that they are just doing rapid prototyping on the top and aren't concerning themselves with the color process to save time.

There has been no talk about another color change so everything we've been making for the pre-production builds for the last couple months is the same color as you'll see once production kicks off in March.

I know you are the "horse's mouth". But for example, in the Jim Farley post on the just-assembled Rapid Red...BN noted that the top was still pre-production. Thoughts?

We are making both the MIC and Modular tops.

Ahhhh....maybe you can clear up another question. 2-door modular top windows...are they removable just like the 4-door?

I just saw the same pictures on the Bronco site at Ford.com, this is very encouraging that the MIC Black hard top is either the final hardtop roof or an option!

The official Ford Bronco Instagram account posted the below image earlier today, and it seems to feature a much darker MIC (not painted) hardtop, matching the door handles and fenders, on a Base model.

@Rick Astley posted earlier about the hardtop pigmentation still being in process, and will ultimately be darker (same color as the rear window hinges). Could this be an example of that darker top?

I hope this is legit. The gray top is disguising.

The grey top works on the OBX, where the door handles and fender flares are color matched to the body.
When the accoutrements are black, a third colored roof just doesn’t work.

There is a clear difference between these latest social media photos and the older ones (black vs gray)....are you saying these two different tops - e.g one is not the MIC and one is?
