Hey Everyone, I have installed a set of DD Fog lights on my Bronco. When the vehicle restarts after a auto stop/start event the fog lights have a noticeable flicker when the vehicle is starting. Anyone know if there is a remedy to this? Besides the obvious of turning off stop/start? Thanks in advance for any help.

Other details which may be useful, My Bronco came with a capable bumper, I got my hands on a mod bumper, and swapped over the harness. So for the fogs I am using all stop wiring with adapters.

That sounds normal if it's just flickering during the engine starting. The starter draws a lot of current from the battery, that is going to affect your lights because it will drop the voltage pretty low while it's cranking. So long as it stops flickering shortly after the engine is running again.

It could also be a sign that your battery is getting older too. So long as it still starts the Bronco just fine I wouldn't sweat it, but a new battery won't drop voltage as much as an older battery. Doesn't necessarily mean it's ~bad~ yet though - the electronics on the Bronco will actually shut off ASS if they detect it's getting too old to support that anymore, and that (combined with random Deep Sleep alerts) is a good sign that it's about time to go looking for a new battery.

I would think so as well, however when I capable bumper those fogs never did this, nor do the headlights.

They are different LEDs with different drivers.

That makes sense. I was just curious if a capacitor or something else could be added to stop it.

I'll have to watch for that, haven't noticed it myself.

Mine indeed do NOT do this. Not sure I'd care if they did.
