This is awesome from a supply chain perspective. Say we order the Ford(Warn) winch option in December. Guess 20K(20%) Bronco orders have the winch option. Ford can then go to Warn in December and place an order 20k units. Warn can then stop all production of the other winches and just pump out the Ford option for the next 6 months, leaving all the people who wanted an aftermarket winch to go to HFT and buy a badlands winch because all the Warns will be out of stock.
Now do this for all the DIO accessories. This should allow all the early adopters to have all the accessories at the dealership before the truck arrives. Because the December order date.

Covid, political unrest or other legacy 2020 issue could affect this hypothesis,

Rigid roof mounted light bar, factory 2 inch lift and other suspension mods along with 37 inch tires...... Great my two-door FE Bronco just went from $60,000 to $70,000+ ?. And there better be an option to change out that GOD-awful navy pier interior!

Does A/Z plan pricing reduce the price of the DOIs, or are DOIs excluded from A/Z plan pricing discounts? For example, do the DOIs have MSRP, invoice, and invoice minus holdback prices, or is it just one price for everyone?

Just trying to calibrate my expectations.

If it is on the invoice then A, D, Z and X plans would all benefit from it...

This is great news!!.....At the same time, doesn't this mean that we are paying interest for the next ~5 years on the accessories we install from the factory?

It does not mean that's a bad thing but we'll have to run the numbers once the B&P tool comes out. Hopefully we can still come out ahead.
Well, sure, the interest is going to apply to however much you are financing. Nothing stopping you from increasing the down payment by the amount of accessories you are purchasing, though.

We've had a similar program for years, the current versions called FIA, we order things, and they get shipped to the dealer for install. The new program looks to have moved it to having the FAD do the shipping (Ford Authorized Distributor). Here's some points and answers to some of the questions I've seen.

1. Bronco Sport is late availability on purpose. They didn't want dealers to double up, since most of the first month is Mannequin units, they'll be getting an accessory package shipped to the dealer for that, don't want to end up with two luggage racks for example. We were told it would be turned on after that process, so probably any day.

2. Installation is free. This is a questionable statement, yes, there is no extra charge for installation, but the installation cost is in the price, for example we do a lot of the Explorer splash guards that retail at $160, to buy them MSRP through parts is $100, leaving $60 for install (which Ford pays the dealer).

3. Pricing will likely be a mixed bag, Ford accessories are usually good, but pricing is very hit or miss, generally pretty good, but sometimes they're crazy. Most are also sold Aftermarket by the companies that make them. For Example we can get a F-150 Platinum Ford truxedo Bed cover or a Truxedo Lo Pro, they are about the same price, but the non-Ford is a nicer cover. Most options are the same as the aftermarket equivalent (often with a Ford Logo), but some like this example are different.

4. May be some issues at the start, the shipping through the FAD is new, used to come from Ford, so there may be some teething problems with this part. Good news is that its starting now, so by the time Bronco launches, hopefully the bugs are worked out. One issue I can see (and have had problems in the past with) is that the accessories not being available when the car arrives. Just last year we had issues with the new Explorer not getting splash guards (then they sent 2019 model flaps), so we had to get customers back later to install them. It may not be an issue, but if a dealer tells you they didn't get them, they're likely telling you the truth as it does happen. Ford has another system where they install the parts after build (not on the assembly line, but in the mod center). I think the spray in bedliners and mud flaps on Super Duty's are this way. If the Ford installed item isn't available it would hold up your vehicle until it's available. The DIO/FIA system doesn't work that way, if something you ordered is on backorder, your vehicle will still be built and shipped to the dealer with no delay, so that's a big plus to the system.

5. Issues with parts getting lost at the dealership. Not a problem at small and some medium dealers, but we fight with it at large dealers a lot. The parts department never gets them to the right people. On dealer trades we get a lot of these that aren't with the car (often just floor mats), and we end up getting a check from the dealer to order new ones since no one can find them. The parts don't get logged through the dealers DMS to track them since they didn't buy the parts, so there isn't a paper trail to find out when they came in or where they went. Will be a bigger issue once purchasing off the lot starts in a couple years.

6. This won't be just for retails and reservations, look for this to be available when stock ordering starts (whenever that actually happens), Ford's making money and its making more sellable units, they already do it on the ones posted.

So be it.
I've been through this before and the least amount of time my rigs have to be at the dealership shop the better. Not worth the fight when something goes sour.
In that case, why take out a 5yr loan for the accessories? They may not even be covered under Warranty if not dealer installed.

For those that want to self-install as much as possible, or are getting dual tops, I wonder about a point where you really can have too many accessories to be able to haul it all home. We're talking 200+ here.

"Sir, you've got a lot of great accessories here - and obviously some of them will be installed on the vehicle - but I'm not certain all of this will fit in the back to take home, even with the seats folded down. Can someone with a truck come with you when you pick up your Bronco?"

Sigh... "Guess I need to add one of these roof racks after all..."
