Diode Dynamics Backup light kit issue

Let me start off by saying my whole day has been crap. Seems Nothing worked out today. So I decided to do the plug and play easy install from a quality company to lift my spirits. But anyway….

So I probably missed a step but when I finished up and tested the brake lights and back up lights. Everything seems to work except the brake lights. It’s only three connections. Seems to be foolproof. Oh well. Thanks for listening and drop any hints on what I could check.

What kit did you buy? My mounting plate for SS3s just came in just haven’t been at home to install them yet.
If I remember right, the only ones with brake function are the SSC1s. I’d have to double check the website (bought mine from 4x4truckleds)

SSC1R has brake function. All the others are only red markers and reverse according to the description on where I got mine

I had a similar problem; same worked fine on my 23 4Runner, like yours on 23 Bronco. SSC1R. I called DD for their wiring schematic and got shut down. Ended up cutting out the DD “flasher” module and rewiring it all myself to the 7 pin. I don’t know if was their problem or not but my Bronco 7 pins all test out accurately pin-by-pin on a tester. I could have a one-off. Maybe it’s the voltage coming out the trailer module.

Need a bit more info here. What did you order (hey if it was from us, what's your order # which makes it easier).

Diode Dynamics doesn't sell a kit with brake lights, at least their reverse kits. WE offer their reverse kit WITH brake light as a funciton, but diode does not offer this on their site.

And only the C1R kit we offer with our Diode Dynamics reverse kits offers the brake functionality.

So I think it's just that you don't have the right lights? But what did you order?

I bought the SSC1 Pros

I commented above before I saw your last comment.

So the SSC1 Pros don't have a brake function. Just a main white light and a red back-light. That's why stepping on your brake does nothing... it does not support that.

You need the C1R's to have brake functionality.

Well that makes me feel better. I did not fail yet another thing.... I just can't follow marketing instructions LOL... Thank to all that replied. Much better day today. Besides I an attending the Bronco Off-Roadeo tomorrow in Tennessee. Good times!
