Is there any way of disabling the Remote Alarm Button on your remote Key.

I have a problem w/mine always setting my alarm on my Bronco due to other things, and keys in my pocket hitting it, sadly at the wrong time of the day when people are sleeping.

If they had designed it better perhaps, having that switch more indented than the other buttons, that might have helped.

Why they even need it is beyond me. For locating your Bronco in a large parking lot, I would imagine, but then again, your vehicle will only stand out anyway.

If you don't have easy access to Forscan, you can take the fob apart and put a piece of tape on the contact for the button.

It doesn't take much to be in your pocket to make contact w/the Alarm Button.

I've thought of doing that.

shift all the non-essential stuff to another pocket.
once i did that, the false alarms stopped.

super low tech and extremely easy to implement

I really don't have a whole lot of things in my pocket.

The real issue here is in the design of the button. It either needs to be more receded so that it's not as easy to contact, or simply removed or easily be deactivated.

That key cover reminds me of my grandpas flip phone carrying case.

I don’t carry anything else in the pocket where I put the key, but I can set it off just leaning against the door sill, or my work bench, or any number of things.

My truck is even worse, and on top of that it has the old “switchblade” style key that pops out, and I hit that button all the damn time, which is really fun to have in your pocket because when it’s deployed it’s about 3 times longer than an old-fashioned car key.

Really, the best solution here is the double-click setting through Forscan.…
