Perhaps I am dumb (good possibility I am lol) but do I need to disconnect the battery when installing new speakers? These will be going into the dash. The Crutchfield set by step says yes, but I wasn't sure.

I didnā€™t, but Iā€™m no example to follow šŸ˜‚. Best practice is to pull your negative. There are reports of people testing their speakers and accidentally shorting their terminals causing the head unit to disable the channel for a short period or even fry the HUā€¦
