#4 is what an honest person would do, but there's also an option 6, which is to take out a business loan to get your production funded so that you actually have products to sell, which then pay the loan back as well as earn you the money to fund the next production run. Then if you're lucky you can actually make a little bit of profit off the 2nd or 3rd production run, and you have happy customers showing off your products bringing you more sales.

Idk, i think charging enough to pay trumps them all. If you whine about you cant do it, charge more.
Incoming cash isn’t the problem, there’s plenty of it. The issue Is delivering the PRODUCT. a loan wont change the fact there’s money coming in, and nothing going out.

Not sure how we got to
ponzifab…. regardless of covid, ponzifab was never gonna work.

tanking deposits and delivering further and further and further behind the timeline is PONZIFAB.

ill gladly wait for someone to prove me wrong.

I think you missed the intent of my post, which was that if you cannot afford to pay to have all the parts manufactured yourself, You borrow the money to manufacture them before you sell them so that you actually have something to sell. If you don't have the product you shouldn't be taking money from customers, regardless of what you're charging.

I have the Archetype Racing Magnum Stirrups, their center handle (The D+MOSH) and their DNA fender badges. They are all ultra premium quality.

I would buy from them again but you’ve got to recognize they are going to be glacially slow in delivery.

Or you could cancel your order and get the cheap looking stamped steel running boards most people get and have them a day after you order them. I was willing to wait, and for me it was the right choice. It’s not like the parts they sell are function critical and prevent the bronco from being driven.
Definitely ordered with the knowledge I would have to wait. My biggest issue is how insanely bad the customer service is. The fact they have given me false timelines 3 separate times and just don't respond anymore for the price we pay is insane.

I got tired of passed deadlines and most recently, no communication, so I filed a complaint with my CC company. Archetype has yet to respond to them about it! Due to that fact, I am pretty sure the refund will stand in my favor. To anyone whose time window hasn't passed, it would be wise to file a complaint to get a refund started ASAP. I don't think they started out this way, but as time passes, they look more and more like a complete CON.

This is the path I am taking at this point too. I don't even care about the product anymore.

You need to make your choice. I have not heard of anyone getting screwed out of money from this company. I look around at damn near every business and kind of business in my area. They are ALL hurting from lack of personnel. Many have closed, reduced hours/days open. I see people bitching about bad service all over social media....but many of the same...don't want to work either. I am making no excuses for any business...but the fact remains, businesses cannot get personnel. In the case of Archetype....you need skilled personnel too. I had a business and am luckily retired....I would hate to be in business now in this environment. I guess one question to ask; do you want them answering phones and emails or making and shipping products? I hope you get a resolution to these issues. I will end in saying that their products are top of the line!
Problem is, they aren't doing either.

Well that BBB rating of F is pretty bad. For those of you contemplating what to do, I’d say that and the search results currently would have changed my mind and as I noted before, I waited a long time for mine and am now happy, but perhaps things have changed for the worse, not the better. Hard to draw sympathy and posting about a Ferrari.

If similarly situated these days (looking for step boards), I’d probably be looking at frame mounted sliders.

best of luck to you all.

The BBB holds zero weight over a business.. it is a "non"profit organization that gets paid by businesses to have reviews modified/scrubbed from their systems. Granted and F is definitely not good even in that sense.

More of the fact that people were mad enough to seek that out to report.

This company is a scam. There is no excuse for ZERO communication, none. It’s incredible to see some folks build a narrative to justify what could be a simple email update.

The dude is actively posting on other forums like Ferrarichat but can’t update his customers?

You won’t make a very good white knight.

I’m going to order two steering wheels tonight. I thing that’s how you do it. At least reading other threads a few white knights pop in and let entire know that archtype makes very demure products that are ā€˜worth the wait’

just take a look at that ridiculous shitty shift knob they sent out

for what you pay and how long it takes it shouldn’t have flaws….

I got a BYOD rail and the DNA badges from them, took forever to get here, but they did get here. Some people said the color on the DNA badges have faded but mine have been solid (so far) and very happy with what I got overall.

I currently have the shift knob for the manual transmission on order. It was (supposed to) ship last month. I also like the Magnum rails, but that’s more money than I’m personally willing to risk on this company.

Their behavior and seemingly endless lead times screams of cash-flow problems. So I’ve been limiting myself to one product at a time and no more than a couple hundred bucks. Essentially gave myself a ā€œgambling limitā€.
I ordered the Magnum Stirrups from them on November 13th, 2023. They kept signaling delays but were at least responding to my emails. Lately, I have asked for additional updates after they said they would ship in the next couple weeks... that was in late May and they have ignored any follow up emails since. So curious, has anyone actually received something from them? They are starting to feel like a scam company and I am about to get the lawyers I work with involved.

And to anyone looking at ordering from them. FIND ANY OTHER COMPANY.
I ordered GT4 height wing risers from them about a year ago and it took several weeks. Feel fortunate that I got them.
