With out having an owners manual in front of me my initial answer would be is because he's an idiot. Read your owners manual. Since the 2.7 is a twin turbo I'm going to go out on a limb here and say it recommends you run 91 octane or higher ( at least if you want to get the best performance out of the engine)....were the first words out of my salesman's mouth...after I took delivery of my 2DR/WT/SAS (2.7L) last week.
Can anyone tell me why?
Struck me as V E R Y odd.
Thanks!
youre right...given his response, in addition to that, I confronted him with a question during the transaction and he stormed away like a child. then comes in the Sales Manager to try to 'soothe my wound.' Spoke to me like a child. After his salesman (that stormed off) returned, his 'walkthru' of the vehicle was showing me how to turn on the ignition and the blinker functionality. I told him that I wanted to take the time to inspect it (with the Bronco6G checklist) and he rolled his eyes and told me that he would wait inside. With out having an owners manual in front of me my initial answer would be is because he's an idiot. 18.3 mpg with 4k miles on the clock. I feel like it improved slightly. Now, It could have improved a little as the engine gets broken in.How did your gas mileage do when you changed to 93? I'm in same boat, a little over 1k miles with top tier 87 but thinking of just using 93
I wish I knew how you average 17 mpg. I'm almost at 3k miles and have tried 87, 91, and 93. I've been averaging at best 13-15 mpg and thats sometimes with a light foot! I even did a road trip from Houston to San Antonio doing 80 mph on the highway getting 13.1 mpg.I used 93 for the first 2000 miles on my 4Dr 2.7L Sasquatch and got 17 mpg. I used cheap regular fhe next 2000 miles and got 17 mpg. I was quite surprised to not see any difference in mileage. I only buy the cheap stuff now. I think the salesman was trying to save you $$.

Same guys that designed the valves for the 2.7 and the MIC tops, LOL.So you are saying that the designers and manufacturer of the engine know more than "the dealer".... Get out of here with those ridiculous facts!!![]()
3.75%, but point takenFord claims running high octane with increase torque by 1% in the 2.7
I'll stick with 87
I've seen the difference in torque/ HP numbers discussed "on the internet" but the owners manual is silent on the actual numbers.3.75%, but point taken

“DO NOT LISTEN TO CAR SALESMAN” is the best advice one can give....were the first words out of my salesman's mouth...after I took delivery of my 2DR/WT/SAS (2.7L) last week.

You’re right. The 2022 spec sheet lists regular as 315/410. An older CNET [article](https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/news/2021-ford-bronco-power-hp-fuel/) listed 300/400. Does look like the increase is even more minor than originally published; 15 and 5 rather than 30 and 15.I got the 1% off the Ford tech sheet, where are you finding 3.75%
Torque 415* (410 regular fuel)
