Ok this may be the wrong forum just just curious. I’ve read that dropping tow and paint protection film can speed up ur build When I called my dealer he said not to do it because it basically resets my build entirely??

Then again with many new people ordering getting builds, maybe it wouldn’t be bad anyway!
I think no I’m going to see my dealer

If you're adding options, it may slow the build, especially if it's a constrained item. If you're removing options, it shouldn't hurt at the most.

A constrained item today is not one tomorrow and one that was not is. It changes every day.
On changing your order; my fear would be just a plain old human or computer screwup. Some have reported cancelled orders or orders 99'd or in limbo (not sure if associated with a change order). Me....not going to take the chance and I will order it the way I want it built. Still......waiting.

To answer your question. Changing doesn’t restart it. There are tons of people on here that have experienced changing orders and getting a quick build date afterward.

For me, I didn’t compromise on things I didn’t want to mess with like the tech stuff or if you want a hard top, but something like PPF you can just add when you get it, so I would take any thing like that off.

A buildable order is a buildable order. Nothing gets "reset" if you make changes. Unless you add more constraint items. If your dealer has allocations and your's is the most buildable it should get pulled.

My build is
2 door
Badlands Sasquatch
Tow
Ppf
Lux package
Mod bumper
2.7
Smaller dealer (told me he was allocated 2/month)
I was number 13 in line in December.
not sure if dropping those few would really help or not.
Ppf and tow I can add after market and would prob switchbumper anyway

My two door BL ,lux,2.3,auto, was in preview status when I went to make the order change from 2.7 to 2.3 motor. A month earlier I had dropped the tow since I only really want a receiver and not towing capability. My dealer contacted Ford to see if the motor swap would reset my place in line. Not only did it not reset, but three days later when I returned to sign the new order and price paperwork, my order had been given a VIN and a scheduled build week.
