They look really good and I'd certainly be interested in set. I'm with malt_liqueur, it would be great to have some kind of soft perhaps rubberized coating.

I think they are fine the way they are. Do it!

Maybe sell some unfinished/primered, people can cover them however they want. I for one would NOT prefer rubber coating

I'd probably spray them velocity blue to match the metal inside door on the 2door

If people are worried about edge, they can cut slit in rubber hose and line edge with it

This ^^^^^ I think the bare metal look is very cool and would match my iconic silver nicely. Are these aluminum?

Oh man that is awesome. I'd buy a set front and rear right now. Let us know when you start producing them. I like the fact that it's wide enough for a bottle. That's awesome.

Those look B-A! Different colors would be sweet. Do you Think you could put 1/16” rubber o-rings/spacers at each bolt to a) prevent rattling and b) allow crumbs, water to fall between door and pocket instead of getting stuck?
@Mountaineer Similar idea, but rattling of bottles against the metal I can imagine would drone on. Some sort of coating or liner on the interior side maybe? Felt/rubber?

**EDIT: This was definitely mentioned further into the thread.

I have been working on a product for Mountains2Metal that will be an improvement over the stock cargo nets or bungee nets...or whatever you want to call them. I really like the way the pocket nets look with the orange accent but we all know that they will eventually wear out and start sagging. My daughter was getting in the backseat of our Bronco recently and she tugged on the bungee chord pretty good and nearly broke it. I am surprised it held up! We decided there would be a need for an upgrade so we began working on the front nets first. 6 bolts and they are off. We designed a deeper pocket insert with molle holes. The depth improves to 3 inches in the front and 2 inches towards the rear of the pocket. A water bottle slides in there nicely. I also like the idea of putting several other things there and bolting/strapping them in place. See the pictures below.

I do think Ford took a short cut on the back panels. You can not remove the bungee with out drilling out the plastic rivets that have been melted in place. You also have to remove the entire door panel to get access them. I have a design completed but I am still tweaking it a bit. It looks like the front panel but is much smaller in size. Install is definitely a commitment since you can not put the bungee net back in place once it is removed. I think people are going to be upset if they have to replace this. A new rear door panel is $584.73. I had to check in case I destroyed mine in the process....haha!

I also called Ford on the front door panels to see if I could purchase a net out of curiosity. There wasn't any info on this and the closest thing available was to replace the whole door panel for $676.62. Another issue was there was no projected date on when this would be available.

I wanted to throw these pictures out there and see what your thoughts were on the design and functionality. Keep in mind the pockets have been modified slightly since these pictures were taken. The hole sizes match the back of the front seats and there is an extra row of holes added to the top. I have a few sets working through powder coat right now to see how well they look after they are painted a textured black.

Paint it black and take my money! Curious if the 2-door netting is the same size as a 4-door.

Great idea. For those asking, its much cheaper to have these stamped and rolled. Curves and round panels are more complex and expensive. Personally I'd be interested if these were a poly material. There would be more flex, and won't get hot in the sun and burn your leg.

Will these still allow all four doors to fit in the back of the Bronco?
Honestly, I don't know right now. Haven't tried. You are adding 2 inches of width where the bungee pocket would be. It is a tight fit already so it would be close.

I like the idea and thought of putting the Bronco doors in the back. For me, this was not a selling point. You can not have any cargo what so ever while these are stored. We plan on developing some more products for organizing the back cargo area so putting the doors back there would not be an option anyway. I think the percentage of Bronco owners that are going to put their doors in the back is very small. Just my opinion.

Thank you for the reply! I agree with your assessment. I guess it would be much more important to know if the doors will still fit in the bags since that is what most will use to store them.
