Maybe the cam phasers are built by the lowest bidder

I think you meant, designed by, validated, certified, approved and paid for, by the cheapest manufacturer...Maybe the cam phasers are built by the lowest bidder![]()
Mine just died with less than 2k miles, why would you not be happy with an repaired engine and trade it in?I've already told my wife if we get this issue then after repair it's getting traded in.
Sorry to hear that, I would be upset, hope Ford gets on it quicker for you. Other than the driver seat plastic adjustment lever breaking on day one, my Bronco with non-phaser 2.3L has been great. Only have 1000 miles on it though.Less then 5000 miles on bronco and the cam phasers are bad. Dealer doesn’t have a time line for repair. Can’t believe ford still has this problem.
What is the failure? Why do they fail?None of them will do anything other than maybe temporarily delay the inevitable.
If the fix was that easy, Ford wouldn't be spending millions in warranty phaser replacement every year.
An internal part of the phaser sticks. I think there's a youtube video floating around here somewhere that shows what happens. What is the failure? Why do they fail?
Oh, so an ol' fashioned stickup. lolAn internal part of the phaser sticks. I think there's a youtube video floating around here somewhere that shows what happens.
Agreed! I can imagine an updated Windsor 5.0 dropping into a Bronco easily, matching up to the 10-speed well and making nice power with zero sacrifice in fuel economy vs. the V6. Plus, it wouldn't sound like a washing machine full of gravel. Bring back the Windsor!LOL, plus the V8's! Sold my much loved 2007 F-150 Lariat with the 5.4 3V real quick when everyone started to ask when Ford started putting diesel engines in the F-150!
... and she said "trading YOU not the Bronco, buddy"...I've already told my wife if we get this issue then after repair it's getting traded in.
Give me a “U”.
Does the 2.3L not have cam phasers or variable valve timing? Just not up to snuff on the 2.3.The only "fix", is to buy the 2.3l.
Warning, NSFW
You should see Welcome to Wrexham. They had a counter in the corner of the screen that dinged every time the coach used that word during one particular halftime. It took about 2 minutes for the counter to get to 18 or 19. I was dying when it was done.
