It's one of the sillier affectations. Not as dumb as a fold down windshield though.Digging this thread back up, hopefully 4WP produces a delete for these. My only dislike on the exterior of the 21'.
I actually kinda like this one!Reminds me of a great Facebook group...
Who cares about pedestrians, they shouldnt be in the road anywayNo. I hope to never hit anything/anyone.
My post was meant to illustrate the hood design between the Bronco and Bronco Sport.
- Bronco has a traditional hood design. Thus, less pedestrian impact friendly. With the tie-down mounts, even less so.
- Bronco sport has a capped-over hood design (like almost all modern cars made in the last 10 years or so) to meet European pedestrian safety requirements. This design allows them to easily add mechanism to pop the hood up a few inches at the back in case of a frontal collision. This creates an air space under the hood to provide a softer impact/landing in the event of a collision with a pedestrian.
Nothing like going down the road with the windshield down. I would guess that 99% of 66-77 bronco owners have never experienced it even. It's one of the sillier affectations. Not as dumb as a fold down windshield though.

That's perfect, would've been nice to see them fully commit to the idea and replace both of them with color-matched panels, but I'm sure someone will do it in time.https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/dee-zee-bronco-build-at-sema-2021.27372/

Has anyone seen where to get these yet? That's perfect, would've been nice to see them fully commit to the idea and replace both of them with color-matched panels, but I'm sure someone will do it in time.
Think hippies on the trails…Who cares about pedestrians, they shouldnt be in the road anyway
Hey, hey. They will be awesome for Canoe Hauling! Maybe it’s just my choice of straps, but the metal hooks on the end have the potential to really f up the paint on the hood over a long drive. The Trail sights will be a much welcomed rigging device!Don't feel bad, no one is ever going to use them
