I'm going to take a look at the Area 51 FE Wednesday after it warms up a bit. I'm also going to take a look at a 2023 Shadow Black Wildtrak that is nearby on the way back as well.

All FE's came with hard top panel storage bags and door storage bags, so either make sure those are included or try to haggle the price down if they are not. I'd still go for the 2023 Wildtrak over an FE, for any color not Lightning Blue.

The 2023 has low mileage as well. Around 29,000. Not a huge fan of the 2-tone interior, but could live with it 😉

Hoss 3.0 Steering and Suspension too! As long as the price is right, I'd say easy choice between it and the FE. In the end though, it's your personal decision that matters for you.

I bought a first edition, and it was even one of the engines with the bad vin number. But after a hundred thousand miles, it never exploded. It was just as reliable as the badlands. We bought later and also the wildtrack that we purchased... I'll keep the first edition forever.
Yeah, but yours & the work you've put into it is a true First Edition 🤠

I was out on looking for my WT for a while. It became too consuming for me, and spent a lot of time on my laptop searching and test driving. Even drove 2 hours each way to test drive one only to be disappointed, LOL.

Someone in my neighborhood, on my street, had a visitor with a beautiful First Edition in the Lightning Blue Metallic color. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to talk with the owner and will keep an eye out for it again.

I think I may be back in. There is one at a local Ford dealership in the Area 51 color. Their ad says it's "Ford Gold Certified". Which sounds good but, I believe, most of the coverage starts when it was originally sold.

Has anyone with a First Edition lend some advice or experiences with theirs, good or bad?
Should I steer clear?

Thanks

I LOVE mine! Interior is nice and well designed, leather seats are really comfortable, sound system is fantastic! And I'm impressed with the power of the V6.
I was a full size Bronco (blue) guy for many years. Sold mine in 2007. When I saw this on the lot last year, I was HOOKED! Only had 13k miles on it, too. Bought it, threw on a set Eibach coilovers and some new wheels and tires, some BD lights and have it just the way I like it.

So how did it go the '21 A51 FE?

I bought a 2-dr '22 WT with Lux (A51 of course) and 12K miles on it for $46K in July of '24. It was perfect because I was going to swap or add everything it was lacking anyhow. The ASKING price on your FE seems in line with what I see on Car Gurus listed here locally with those miles, but asking price and selling price can be very different, particularly if it has been on the dealer lot a while. Be sure to ask about recalls on the truck. If it has a couple of open ones, it could be some good bargaining leverage.

Keep in mind, too, '26s are rolling out, so some discounts on '25s will start showing up in the coming months. We got about $12K off MSRP of a '24 WT with all the Lux bits in July of '25.

Also keep in mind you can put some decent Eibach Pro-Truck coilovers for about $2K. You can wire a sway bar disconnect into a Aux switch for less than $1500. You can also add the Severe Duty Steering Rack for about $1200 + a Procal. If you find a killer deal on a truck, you can probably add whatever key bits it maybe lacking for less than a couple grand or through the aftermarket.

We have two Broncos and we love them both far more than I ever could have imagined we would.

I actually did not go out and look at either. After thinking on it more, I really like what I am driving now, my 2021 Jeep Gladiator. It is super comfortable and has given me zero issues. I will probably still take a look at them at some point. Both the FE & the WT have been on the dealer's lot for sometime. Hope it's not taboo to post a pic that's not a Bronco, but this is what I'm driving now

No worries and it's a very nice truck. Someday you will see the light and we will be here to welcome you into the Bronco glory. Enjoy!
