Questions for the group.

1) do the 21 Broncos have a higher resale value because they are the first wave of 6g?

2) are auxiliary switches standard now? Especially in the Badlands? When I build one I see no option to select aux switches over sunglass holder anymore

3) how long the wait is it now when you build a two-door Badlands?

I am a 21 owner so I can answer that one from my perspective: No. There is nothing about 21 model year that makes them worth more. If anything the opposite, because the newer models have some standard features that add value to the truck that were not available in 21 such as larger infotainment screens on base models, all digital dash, direct/dual port injection on the 2.3 engine, etc.

However the depreciation on 21s is another story, mostly because they came out right before post-COVID inflation really kicked in and Ford started raising prices significantly. My 21 Base had sticker price MSRP of $31,175 (with a few options on it) and I could sell it for about $30k. Today a Base is about $41k

I don't see the value of anything in '21 as any higher than anything else. Except maybe a FE simply because of how they were optioned. Beyond that, they've probably gotten better since 21 since there *were* some initial fit/finish issues with the early 21's.

For example, my '21 has an interesting paint defect in a door and the hood was dented from the factory

Definitely this part too. my BB with lockers, tow, mid and overhead switches is annoying to option out now, and the closest you can get is a modestly tarted up Outerbanks at around 54k. I paid 39k for mine in november of 21.

Of course, a desirable modestly tarted up Outerbanks has never been off road. A tarted up anything is most likely more desirable when new. :ROFLMAO:

True, but my 22 Base is factory equipped with the modular bumper, brush guard and aux switches. None of these options are available on a Base today. While these were not standard features, they are desirable options you can't get today without going to a higher model. I doubt things like a larger screen and electronic display affect value too much. I happen to like the smaller screen, plenty big without being so dominating. Dual injection, yes -- but you have to go to a 2025 model which is unlikely going to affect the value of 21 and 22 models.

Hey BugetBronco, love your channel! I'm checking into resale value because I may be upgrading soon to a Badlands (as it is the only 2 door option now with the things I want). I bought mine in 20 or 21? For $44k, it's a base model , rapid red with 30k miles. I have been seeing them online selling for about that today. All the listings make sure to state that they have the "first wave" of 6th gen Broncos🤷‍♂️. So if I can get that I may sell in order to upgrade.....(but I have not seen any new colors as beautiful as my Rapid Red or your Anti-matter Blue!)

No avg consumer want to buy an offroader or racer unless hard core and then only because wants that stuff at 80% off cost.

Just list it and see what happens...you never know.

Your 21 isn’t as special as you think

it’s just a bronco

in 30 years it could have collector value. Or maybe never. First year of the comeback? I doubt it ever has extra value.

It depends on how you calculate resale value. In pure numbers, no. a '21 if anything might be a bit less valuable due to less equipment than later years and some of the issues the first Bronco's off the line experienced. But, if you own a '21 and avoided the insane mark-ups some dealers were charging, the increases in MSRP between year '21 and '24 would pay off handsomely for you. The first 2021 base models were right at 30k. They're still worth damn near that, especially with low miles and exceptional condition. I had an early reservation in, my 2 dr. Big Bend Sas was right at 40k MSRP. 2 years later it became 47k or more. Your percentage of original purchase price on a '21 will be significantly higher than a comparable '23 for example.

Thanks @_Nelson_ ! Agree, that is one thing that makes some 21s more attractive to the right person, paint colors that are no longer available.

Where's the fun in that...and the rationale for getting rid of a "low miles and exceptional condition", still late model vehicle is? ;)

To replace it with another vehicle you want more but don't need and won't use. It's an investment. :ROFLMAO:

Undecided
2021's with 0 factory power train warranty left would be a huge risk unless new owner bucks up for new policy if available
