I saved up for three years to buy my dream Bronco. I bought it brand new from Leif Johnson Ford in Austin Texas.

I paid $80k and after 500 miles it completely died. The battery junction box failed and burnt out. I have made zero upgrades to the vehicle and bought it from Leif Johnson as is paying $30k over sticker price.

It has been in the shop for 5 months with no timeline on when the part will become available. I have been making $1200 payments for 5 months. The best I got for a rental was a base f150 with cloth seats.

Neither Leif Johnson or Ford has done anything to show any empathy - ZERO.

Ford Legal offered a buy-back but is taking months even to offer any numbers/offers.

I will never buy a Ford again, they have gone so downhill from Corporate to the dealerships.

Such a shame since I grew up in Michigan thinking so highly of Ford as a company.

That’s pretty modded up for being “brand new” and “no upgrades”
All those extra lights might have something to do with your battery issues.
🍺 Good luck

Agreed, I love people who have one post and it is some ridiculous claim on something that probably was not Ford's fault

Unless this was a base or BB that had $$$$$ amount of dealer add-ons that justified $30k over sticker or you got screwed twice.

Unfortunately there are pages and pages filled with owners Broncos with months in the shop. Either wait it out and be happy you're one of the rare ones that actually got a loaner or lemon law it and try to recoup your money.

Apparently some people are buying modded Broncos and not realizing. For example, the other day I was asking a guy about the Ranger wheels on his Bronco, and he was convinced the wheels were stock Bronco wheels.

Never thought of that. If that’s the case, it’s all on the dealer, and not Ford.
Or the yahoo who wired all his lights wrong and fried his electrical system

All manufacturers have issues not just Ford, it’s just part of the game. Crappy situation but I would assume things would be covered and fixed. Also assume you off loaded the Bronco?

Is Ford giving pushback on the warranty claim? The Bronco appears to have several mods: fenders, hood, wheels, lift, diff drop, hidden winch, lights, etc

Junction boxes typically don't just burn up and I haven't seen other claims thus far. Faulty light wiring by the dealer maybe?

It shouldn't take that long to get replacement parts. I am betting the dealer is at fault and doesn't want to own up to it. I would be in the service managers office demanding answers.

And I would be very surprised if Ford buys it back after one reported issue and all those mods.

No I have been waiting 5 months for Ford to buy it back since they can't send the part. Paying $1200 each month in payments.

Heavily modified Bronco and junction box burn up. Most likely NOT Fords fault.

You got a sweet ride. I would fix it and rock it out, unless you want out of that insane payment. Maybe start saying you are contacting a lawyer or something to get the ball moving. Might be able to sell/swap out fenders and hood and what not with someone with a matching bronco paint job. Recoup some cost. I can’t imagine Ford Corporate would know since it would be back to stock.
