I went to the Ford Chat and asked about model change and this is what she sent to me.

Customers can make changes to their vehicle configuration such as door options, interior/exterior color, powertrain, and accessories when they place their order at their selected dealership. If a customer wants to change their model at this time, they will need to cancel their original reservation and make a new one. Their reservation place in line will be based on the new reservation OR they can wait for the possibility that a process is put in place.

I really hope that's not the case or they are going to have a slew of cancelled orders and pissed off customers.

if that's true then i'm out as will be a ton of people- we were supposed to decide at the time of reservation, many of which were made the night it was announced?! That's complete insanity. How many people will cancel if they can't change?

That would be a crappy move...but Ford has made a lot of those. It would help me move up since I’m still getting the same trim I reserved...but would be a major dock move nonetheless and isn’t right.

It's not true. At least one member has already gotten burned by that (and one of our members dealers has helped them make the fix). That is an untrained CS Rep.

Well given the fact the've upended the build and price and have steered people to certain builds, I'm assuming Ford will let people change their orders without having to cancel their original reservation.

Ford needs to send an email to all the people with reservation stating weather we can change our models under the same reservation or not.

Wish you guys would stop taking the word of dealership and corporate customer service employees as the truth. Sad, but it is what it is. Those individuals cannot be trusted to give accurate information.

This entire screwed up process the customer gets the shaft at every turn.

Feels like a plan by dealers to push aside those of us that have a reservation so they can sell every vehicle above MSRP
