All of my boost gauges I’ve owned /installed the First of the dial sweep /half is 15 psi and the end of the needle sweep is 30+ unless it’s In BaR which I highly doubt , I will check it with the Raptor button thing and see … the boost went to the end dial each time Is that 20 psi on the broncos ?

I’m not sure what the gauge goes to on a Bronco Raptor, I just know 28-30 psi is more than a Bronco with a FP tune should make.

Maybe it spiked so quickly it was hard to tell exactly what it was at? I think most Braptors will make ~23 psi max on the FP tune. 28-30 I think you would probably be in the range of setting an over boost code.

@swamp2 didn’t you have the FP tune for a little while? Does that seem correct?

This is speculative and to my sensations false.

Although it's very clear to any experienced foot/butt combo that both with and without the FP tune, that Normal mode has a much more linear throttle map than Sport mode (Sport being as you described above as with FP tune). It's also quite evident to me that any changes from the FP tune are much smaller than the Normal to Sport differences (either before or after FP tune).

This could be settled by logging some data, I think both % pedal depressed and % throttle open are both available all least in a tool like HPTuners sw.

Fair points, and you're totally right about the drive modes—Sport Mode definitely ramps up throttle tip-in aggressively compared to Normal Mode, regardless of whether the truck is stock or flashed with the FP tune. The delta between those two modes is always going to feel massive to your right foot.


Where the Ford Performance calibration alters things is at the global table level (the actual Driver Demand and Torque Request mapping). The numbers I used in my previous post (20% pedal to 50% throttle) were an exaggerated example to illustrate a concept, but the engineering intent behind the FP tune is to smooth out the torque delivery curve. They do this to make boost transition more progressive and to cooperate better with the 10R60/10R80 transmission shift logic under heavy load.


You hit the nail on the head regarding data logging. If anyone wants to geek out with FORScan or HPTuners, logging APP (Accelerator Pedal Position) against TP_Relative (Throttle Position) and TC_COMMAND (Torque Control Desired) across a stock vs. FP file will show exactly how Ford Performance smoothed out those baseline transitions to keep the engine in its power band longer, rather than dumping all the boost right off the line.


Either way, the biggest takeaway for anyone fresh off a flash is to let that Octane Adjust Ratio (OAR) settle in before judging the final power delivery!

So ! To those asking about the boost. Yes it’s boosting from 3-6,7 gear while going about 40mph WOT it does hit right before the 30 psi mark on the dash. Each and everytime I’ve tried this passed 2-3 days since uploading the tune and it just pulls I did use a few ounces of VP octane booster and have used VP products for many years.

Yes, pretty sure that the max I ever saw, and that peak is highly condition dependent, i.e. very often ones peak will be much lower, maybe only ~20.

Pretty well impossible you're making 30 or even 28 psi on the FP tune. Something in your system or gauge or the operator is way out of whack. You're truck would also feel/be ridiculously fast...
