Bronco Raptor now at 1000 miles and wondering whether to get the Whipple tune or wait for the Ford Performance option, if / when it comes. Not sure how much better it may be than the Whipple, if at all?

I thought, from light reading, the whipple stored stock (or could) and was “easily” reversible. Interesting.I'm in the same boat. I think the FP tune will not match Whipple for output and is likely to be about 50 crank hp. The difficulty of reversing Whipple along with uncertainties around warranty are leading me to wait for FP option. Sounds like Q2 availability.
What do you find awful?...
tuning this AWFUL trans shifting before making a decision.
I've heard the full gamut; can't go back, can but it's hard, gas to be done by dealer, Whipple can do it. I'm not sure. Regardless, you can't do it yourself.I thought, from light reading, the whipple stored stock (or could) and was “easily” reversible. Interesting.
No idea, but doubt it. Whipple got a blessing (encryption key) from FMC, no others have.Similarly I was under the impression many of the current tunes were the same device, running retailer specific tunes, from different retailers.
Doubt they would do engine only. And, AFAIK, their tune is not a full PCM tune, like FP and Whipple.Has anyone thought about sending your Braptor to Hennessey? I know $25k is a lot of a money, probably $10k in wheels/tires/lift/bumpers so that leaves $15k for 20% more power. Lots of money but full warranty is nice
for me its the decel - 5 to 4 to 3 is a bit aggressiveWhat do you find awful?
The only thing I'd call awful is sport mode, low throttle, 4->5 shift.
sport mode definitely wakes it up but I absolutely HATE the aggressive downshifting.....as your pulling up to a light people look over and think " whats that guys problem" its too aggressive for on road driving it should only be that aggressive in baja mode.for me its the decel - 5 to 4 to 3 is a bit aggressive
