Ford Performance WARN winch kit install by service tech

I follow this veteran-turned-mechanic on Youtube. Works at a Ford dealer I believe somewhere in the Chicago area.

Today’s video is installing off the WARN winch kit from Ford Performance accessories.

Other than the ginormous billboard that is the front license plate bracket. And the stubby push bar that does what exactly??

What's to keep you from relocating the control module to somewhere that doesn't block the front camera??

Does the car need reprogrammed because the ACC is blocked? Not clear on why that needs done.

I do like the beefiness of the frame reinforcements on this kit.

agree totally like the bracket system and the additional strength those will provide.

the reprogram looks to disable the front park sensors so there's at least that.

It's to recalibrate the airbags since it sits out further than the bumper

Interesting how other manufacturers of winch plates don't mention/suggest that from what I've seen.

Not compatible.

BUT... I'm actually looking into it. I think you can build a pair of adaptor plates to make it work.

I can tell you right now it will NOT work if you have the High or Lux package. The front sensors are located in the exact spot where the winch would mount.

Interesting. I have a WARN Winch, the same as Ford use, but again I have WARN front and back Armour. So...Meh. But I think I read it wrong, its for the Ford bumpers. So lol L2read.

It works!! Albeit with some minor modifications. Not sure if it'll work with the sensors though, but you can give it a look and see if it is feasible.

Yah I don't think it would be possible since Ford knows the exact specs of their Winch plate etc. so they can do the calcs for their equipment.
