Am I the only one who wants this? I get that Ford doesn't know exactly what commodity restrictions are going to be x number of months/years down the road, and I get they are trying to scramble to get a better outlook on production over the next few years (and I realize COVID screwed so much up with the Bronco re-introduction), but I would gladly take over-communication with open arms. In the past, I know people were upset about back and forth on certain aspects from creating the Build and Price to Ordering protocols, but geez, I want more that info on the Off Roadeo and Ford points. I'm begging you Ford, keep us more in the loop on the outlook of 21/22. It doesn't have to be much (I know they have concrete info on most of the issues) but just something other than an email every. I've received 3 emails from Ford in the past 4 months, and one was just to stay excited....

7/23 res so I'm hoping for a 21, but I really feel for day 1/2 reservation holders being almost kept in the dark....

Sorry, had to rant a bit....

I’m all for communication, even if it’s less-than-ideal news. However I also understand that “over promising and over delivering” would drive us just as nuts. There’s got to be a balance.

But this is coming from a CDN who doesn’t even get the automated build update emails from Ford, so I likely think their communication could be better, even from your standpoint :)

I bet if they explained how fucked the situation is at webasto they’d lose a lot of reservations. Then it would drive their stock down which is almost triple than this time last year. Keep the share holders happy is the game.

Exactly! I feel they can walk a much better line of avoiding those overpromises but also keeping us informed. I also agree, so many would get more frustrated if they did over commit, but I think most of us would agree, the few emails that have been sent is nowhere near enough especially if thinks spill all the way to 2023...

Also, I love Ford. This definitely isn't me talking crap about them, I just want us to be happy and I want them to succeed.

Have you heard the fable about the frog? The story goes… if you put a frog into a pot of boiling water, it will immediately jump out. But if you just turn up the heat gradually, it will cook to death.

We are the frog.

Bottom line is… the real news is a very high percent of reservations are not getting a vehicle this year. Some not even next year.

100%

It frustrates how committed I am and that no matter what, I'm in this for the long haul....Ford can do as they please...

I get frustrated when I ask Ford or the dealership a straight forward question, and the answer provided has nothing to do with my question. Providing reservation holders updates concerning the ongoing issues should be automatic. Providing info about possible upcoming order dates, and the such would at least give folks a sense of caring. I also believe Ford should use some ingenuity and pivot on the fly with their model options. Allow BD to option the high package in order to alleviate the over demand for models that are not buildable. If there is an aftermarket soft top for the two door, then cut a deal with that company to produce those soft tops and make that an option. Loosen up the restrictions to assist in customer satisfaction. How the customer became the forgotten piece is beyond me.

I like the idea on loosening up the restrictions for sure and I agree with almost everything you said. Fingers crossed it gets better but I'll refuse to hold my breath...
