Ford ProCal Performance Tune will not work on 2023 models

okay I mean I would not put it past Ford to lie directly to a customer but what they told me was "No 2023 VINS have been added to any Proscan devices becasue we do not have approval from CARB yet. The tunes have been submitted to CARB for approval but we are unaware as to when that approval may occur" Does that clarify ?

Are you located in California? Given the recent history of 2022 being released without CARB approval, it would seem odd that would occur as EPA != CARB. I have no doubt you were told that, just logically and historically wouldn't make much sense but who knows.

I was told today by our Ford Performance rep that they are hoping to have approval for the 2023 models in 2 weeks. Although that's the expected timeframe it's not set in stone and can change.

most service department don't install ford performance items or have exposure to ford performance. not surprised the local guys have no idea

I asked this question to steeda when I ordered the tool and tune. They didn't answer my question and still sent it. I really hope this works on the 2023 2.3 soon or this will be a really expensive code reader

Actually, @LethalPerformance is a "tune" of just rev match downshift on the 7mt possible? Or does the gooberment still frown upon that.

I'm not really sure if they will offer a cal with just that feature alone with no other changes. The rev match feature however is available with the Procal device for all 7MT's.

I spoke with my Ford Performance rep earlier this week and was told they are hoping to release 2023 stuff mid next week. Hoping it happens for everyone who has been patiently waiting.

As soon as we have confirmation of the release we'll be sure to post up and make everyone aware.

Unfortunately its out of our hands as well as Ford Performance's. They are awaiting approval from a government agency and that's just how it goes sometimes. The process to receive emissions approvals isn't as easy as some may think.
