All those negative waves brother. I'm going to double up on my postive waves to negate those negative ones so everything will be OK.......:)

Let's hope this top fiasco is behind us, and all will go smoothly from here on out.

Ford-Webasto . . Get Stuffed . . .
Ship Broncos w tarp on back . . .

We can buy hardtop from ADV Fiberglass . . or some other aftermarket . .
I said I think they will figure it out, but that said...I still think they should ship them as is if customers are willing to make that deal. This way, if it does take longer than expected, #badbatchbroncos folks will at least have their vehicles to enjoy in the meantime.

No... Simply because Webasto's work force will mostly be turn overed by the time mic 2.0 is being produced. Webasto has little direction on the floor and hardly anyone knows what their doing at any given moment as far as production, quality.

It is clear that Ford and Webasto are spending tens of millions on improving this process. If the equipment and new tooling gets in place in September, there are plenty of reasons to think substantial improvement can be achieved in a very short amount of time.

Ya, resuming hardtop builds (other than FE) will not happen in November... Not likely based on how Ford has missed targets to date.

Re-doing the tooling on the top and getting them shipped by November? I have zero faith in it. If that is all it took it would have been done earlier this summer. I think all they will accomplish is finishing the FEs by the end of the year. Sad but true.

This example is just one tiny little piece of the puzzle but Ford doesn't even have paint colors finalized and the order banks open in a month. How hard is that? And it isn't done. Our MIC tops for the poors won't be done this year.

sense they are making all new tooling and I am guessing making it thicker Ford won't know how well work out and if it works and when did they start making new tooling too they might have been working on new tooling for some time.

I think they would be EXTREMELY bold to put a time frame on it and not deliver. That's where that "soon" and "stay tuned" stuff that you guys love so much comes in handy. Ford knows they already have angry buyers. Not delivering again would be disastrous for them

I saw that article and was a little surprised to read Webasto is still opening a second plant.
Ford is not their only customer

They could have been working on possible fixes since issues first started creeping up. They may have exhausted all options to use/rework the existing tooling. So, Ford could have several months head start on the design and manufacturing for the new tooling. But, if the changes were radical enough you get an announcement like we got this week because the old top becomes so obsolete that you can't just hide the changes in a rolling revision. So, yeah they absolutely could hit November if they have already had the ball rolling. It was just a painful, expensive call to make. Just an opinion from having spent 20+ years in manufacturing.
