Going over their website the modification list seems pretty limited - perhaps more coming in the future? I don't see any disabling of 'double honk' for example, but perhaps it is labeled something different...

For my Audi, they were great about adding requested mods. I sent them the coding for a specific mod and they added it to the app pretty quickly.

Never heard of but we can't get a vehicle to program correctly with a hardwired connection to FDRS. Not sure I'd even want to try it with a dongle and BT. That said, Ford does have their VCM lite which I've used to pull codes and I think you can do some key programming but there's a reason Ford won't allow other functions. I bet they bricked a bunch of stuff in testing leading up to it's release.
Would you mind sharing what issues you are having with FORScan? I’m lucky enough to know a few of the guys that are really good with it.

Forscan has done everything I wanted it to do and some things I didn't know I wanted.

That said I would like to see auto-lock when I move away from the Bronco and its not running.

I use an old laptop with a bad CMOS battery. Works a trick and it's always the year 2000. 😁
I have an old work laptop that fried its wifi chip. I use the Ethernet connection to get the extended license when needed.

I tried the Carista Evo today. I'll need to return it, pending what I hear from user support. It doesn't work. To be fair, it sounds like they're still developing for Ford and I will contact them about the issues below, so the book is not closed just yet.

Not all of the items shown in their list were available when I went into the app.
https://carista.com/en/supported-cars/ford/bronco/6th-gen

Some settings shown were not available because my vehicle doesn't have them (I have a lower trim level), so that's understandable. But there were some that interested me, that I expected to be available for me to change. Chief among these was the "Start/stop engine, Enabled/Disabled" setting. It wasn't there.

I was also curious about the "Global windows close, Enabled/Disabled" setting. I love the ability to open the windows as I walk up to the car. This is the reverse of that, where you press the lock button, release, then press and hold the lock button for three seconds and the windows will close (or so it says). I'd rather not stress the window seals if I don't have to, and since I don't have the automatic key detection on my Bronco I have to press a button on the fob anyway. I enabled this setting in the app but it didn't work.

When I tested this the horn beeped after the second "lock" button press. Not a problem usually, you don't often press "lock" twice. But if I want to do the "global window close" thing, I don't want to have the car beep all the time. So I tried to change that "Beep when locking with remote" setting, too, disabling the horn beep on the second press. This also didn't work, so this indicates to me that the Carista Evo wasn't changing any settings.

I'll try again tomorrow just to make sure. But my initial impression is negative.

Thanks for the report. Given that disabling A.S.S is sort of the first, second, and third on everyone's list, and that Ford has managed to prevent this w/Forscan, its own ProCal/Tune, and every other known method excepting a hardware solution (e.g. AutoStop Eliminator, etc.), this is not really surprising.

It does seem your were not getting anything changed however, so maybe a hardware/software setup problem. Good luck!

First I’ve heard of the a.s.s feature not being programmable to off.
It’s on my list of changes to make to our 24. Challenge accepted.

Yes, this thought crossed my mind. While it may have been possible to change this setting in the past, maybe Ford has disabled that in later updates. So maybe it's not Carista's fault. No idea, just reporting what I saw.

I have not had any personally however Ford's FDRS has been notoriously unreliable. Ford said at one point it was on the dealer/ISP side, poor dealer infrastructure wi-fi points, slow laptops, etc. Most of the techs know the issue is on Ford's end, likely servers, because everything seems to slow down about the same time dealers in later time zones open.

Periodic update:
Carista still doesn't work, not really. It *did* disable ASS, but not in a way that anybody would want. It looks like it tricks the system into thinking the charging system isn't working (one of the conditions for ASS not activating is if the battery is low or charging system is overloaded, IIRC). So when you disable ASS this way you get a periodic "check charging system" message on the dash. You then have to press to clear it. Ultimately, you have to press the button to clear that message way more times than just pressing the "ASS off" button.

Other features supposedly are not enabled/disabled directly, but should change the Settings menus in the infotainment screen to allow you to access those settings, such as the global window down setting that is normally available. But those menus did not change.

To their credit, Carista are continuing to work on it. They have asked for bug reports from me and have pushed a couple revisions to the app. There is activity but not success yet.

Good to hear thanks for the report. Forscan appears to be suffering under the sanctions so I am not sure if it is still an option.
