Forward drive shaft boot defective

Picked up new 2 door Wildtrak with 9 miles on it on 9/28/23 . On 9/30/23 I rolled underneath to admire the fox suspension and noticed grease splatter in and around the front drive shaft boot ( part #mb3w-4a376-be m210 front drive shaft ) upon closer inspection found the boot to be separated at the second crease and grease splatter everywhere. droped it off 10/02/23 in the morning just got word they don't have the part and don't know when they will get it could take days or weeks I assume that part is wildtrak specific but who knows . I've searched the 6g forum and can find nothing on this issue to me it looks like a factory defect . By the way I love the 2 door wildtrak it's a beast

There was a TSB or recall on the front driveshaft on some 2021's maybe taking a lot of the inventory. Mine was an early 2022 build and had a defective front driveshaft- the grease caked and dried on the inside of the boot and created a screeching/whining noise. The exact same symptoms described in the TSB or recall. Maybe a 2021 driveshaft used in my build who knows. My dealership was able to find one at another dealership fortunately but that was a while ago.

I traded in my 23 black diamond when I got the wildtrak and they gave it back to me as a loaner while they figure out the axel problem . I will say they wanted the wildtrak in asap to fix the problem . I'm glad I got under it or I may not of found it befor it failed

I don't think you can get just the boot based on what I see in the catalogue. There're a shit ton of front driveshafts available so getting one shouldn't be an issue.

So if you tear a DS boot you need to replace the entire drive shaft...wow

It depends on how soon it's caught. Generally, they inspect for damage and decide. If water and road debris get in there, it doesn't take long to make a mess of things, especially if any part loses grease protection.
