Behind your Sync screen buried in the dash. Have fun.
Ok maybe just find the antenna and disconnect it. Tin foil on it. Something

Antennas are also in the dash.
Crap. I can't wrap the whole bronco in tin foil. I did turn off the communication, I wonder if it really turns off everything.

You can just pull the TCU fuse. But it’ll affect a number of things. I really wouldn’t recommend it.

What does it effect?
Remote FordPass features (lock/unlock/remote start), OTA updates, navigation, diagnostics, owners manual updates, etc. etc. It even impacts some of SiriusXM's functionality for reasons that aren't fully clear to me.

You can pull the fuse to find out. Don't be surprised if your dash lights up with a few warning messages.

I turned off that functionality so nav(which I will never use or pay for) and fordpass are already off. If my truck is already built and functions i really dont want ota anyway. I only subscribe to xm when i get a $2 deal anyway. What else you think would be an issue?

If I could just unplug the antenna, you wouldn't get error codes.

Wireless CarPlay / Android Auto may not work, but not 100% sure about that. In order to function, wireless CarPlay / Android Auto requires a Wifi network, and I am fairly confident that Wifi network is created by the TCU. (If it isn't the TCU it's the APIM.)

And remote diagnostics won't work. Not a big deal really. But if you take your vehicle in for service/recall/warranty work, make sure you let the technician know. Otherwise you'll be sending them down a rabbit hole.

That's all that I personally know about, but there probably is some other stuff I'm not aware of. I know it'll still throw DTCs on the CAN bus, but I don't think it'll trigger a check-engine light.

my gateway module went after having mine for 2 weeks. it took them 5 weeks to get a new one in. the plus side was once the module showed up its a quick install and test drive and you'll get the car back. no programming required just an install. sorry for that inconvenience, I feel your pain.
There is actually programming involved. Its called a PMI procedure. If they just throw it in it wouldn't have any kind of communication with the vehicle

I turned off the communication in the radio. Fordpass doesn't work. But I still get OTA. So it's not a complete off.

Ford when you connect your phone, uploads all your txting data to their servers. I'm a model citizen, but they don't need that data. They are also uploading gigabytes of other data from the vehicle. Again, they don't need that data. I'm not getting paid for that. I signed no clause saying they could have it. It's mine. The vehicle I bought is mine.

Seems like disconnecting the antenna would produce the fewest error messaqes.

So the gwm uploads all your data to Ford so they can spy on you? I think I'll disconnect mine.
This is absolutely correct in fact it stores all of your data from your phone that you've ever synced with the Bronco, deleted text messages and pictures and photos and browsing history are all stored on your nice Gateway module
