@Gobi are you guys working on a better stiffener than these chinsy brackets with thumb screws? I see these crushing in on Jeeps.

1) This was not the only complaint found about the rack, if you do your due diligence and research products you won’t waste thousands of dollars.

2) The company even has a disclaimer about the bolts loosening up and having to tighten them periodically.

3) If you give a company feedback to improve their product, it’ll make for happier customers in the long run.

You are correct, and GOBI does provide the disclaimer visible on the product to check for tightness before use. This is a great reminder to perform proper preventative maintenance. Maintaining a persons own stuff is a responsibility that can be difficult for some, but for any able body person this is no hard task. As for me in this situation, I enjoy taking on a little responsibility.

There's a reason we started the week off in the motorpool and it wasn't because 1SG rolled the trucks out of line on Sunday night.

Finally got my 2dr rack after 7 months.. well worth it!

Install took the better part of 2 days, but was well written and easy to follow to me.. Took longer to unwrap all the parts!

Well that does it for me all of the current bronco rack solutions are equally garbage. Glad I went with what BAMF had to offer.

Well with the reduction in trunk space compared to the 4dr, everything! Just the usual roof tent and recovery gear.

I have this rack on my Bronco and it looks great and works great.
But, I took my first long trip with it and it is loud, really loud. I’ve noticed the noise since it was installed and it sounds like wind. It starts at about 40mph and just gets louder as the speed increases. We had a cross wind and the noise was uncomfortable.
Has anyone had any success in finding ways to tame the noise? I’ll be heading back home soon and I’m not looking forward to it.

Get the front wind deflector. Had same on my 4Runner and noise was tolerable. As for side winds, that is pretty spotty, so worry more about frontal wind and I think you’ll solve 90% of the annoyance.

There isn’t one available from Gobi, I tried one from another brand and it wasn’t compatible.

I wonder if same one “made” for 4Runner would simply work/fit?? It’s just a piece of sheet metal and brackets to adjust and form it. Ask GOBI what they think @GOBI Racks

I’m using one from Yakima that I’m pretty happy with. It came on the mega warrior basket but I’m sure they can be purchased separately.

Check out Colorado Fairing Company. They custom build them.
